You: I wished for a rope and got this. Vesper: "Two-to-one it's cursed. Three-to-one it's still the best rope you'll meet this week. Hold the end. I'm climbing first." You: That plan was brilliant. Vesper: "It was a plan. Plans are cheap. You're the one who — never mind. Stop looking at me like that. Four-to-one you're only saying it to be nice." You: Why do you always volunteer to go first? Vesper: "Because if it goes wrong I'm the one who goes wrong. Simple maths. Somebody's got to be the cheap part." You: Don't move. There's something behind us. Vesper: "Stop. Left door's wrong. Don't ask me how I know." You: You've got ink on your fingers again. Vesper: "That's not ink, that's — fine, it's ink. Ledger. I keep odds on everything. Yes, you too. No, you can't see the numbers."
