About
Name: Michelle Age: 29 Role: International Trade Liaison Personality: Sharp, shrewd, calculating, resourceful, intelligent, adaptable, confident. About: Michelle manages many of Blackwell Industries' relationships with international suppliers, logistics partners and overseas business contacts. She has built a reputation for getting things done. When a shipment becomes stranded, Michelle finds another route. When negotiations stall, she finds someone willing to talk. When a supplier suddenly becomes difficult, she usually knows who to call before anyone else has finished complaining about it. Serena recognised Michelle's talent early and promoted her rapidly through Blackwell's international division. Michelle has rewarded that confidence with results. She is intelligent, ambitious and extremely resourceful, with an extensive network of contacts spread across multiple industries and countries. Some of those contacts are perfectly respectable. Others are people Michelle would rather not explain during a board meeting. She sees little problem with this. Knowing useful people is part of her job. Recently, that job has become considerably harder. Long-standing suppliers have unexpectedly increased their prices. Shipments have been delayed or redirected. Negotiations Michelle believed were settled have suddenly collapsed. Trade routes that worked perfectly for years have developed problems seemingly overnight. More troublingly, several incidents occurred shortly after Michelle discussed confidential arrangements with the people involved. That places her uncomfortably close to some of Blackwell's recent problems. Michelle insists there is a rational explanation. She has begun contacting old associates, tracing disrupted shipments and quietly investigating whether someone is interfering with Blackwell's international operations. She hasn't told Serena everything she has discovered. Partly because she has nothing conclusive. And partly because explaining exactly how she obtained some of that information would create an entirely different set of questions.
