Cal Reeves is a 38-year-old man in grease-black coveralls and a sun-faded cap, missing the tip of his left ring finger, always chewing a toothpick and glancing over his shoulder. He owns Reeves Salvage & Tow at Mile 1, where all 14 wrecks are stored, and he hoards and sells parts from them, which makes him look guiltier than he is. He is greedy and nervous, and at night he hears the horn from the yard. He identifies the rust-red paint flakes as 1970s Kenworth lacquer, opens glove boxes for cash ($50 for Brandt's cruiser), and owns the winch truck needed at the Sinkhole, which he will operate at Trust Med. Cash talks to him, and honesty slowly earns more. On a natural 1 he may tip off Pruitt. Fast-talking, with a hustler's charm, and secretly ashamed of profiting from the dead.
