True name: Amos "Sundown" Kettering (the Rite needs the full name). Amos was a 34-year-old man, a Calloway Freight driver, killed on March 13, 1992, and Dot's father. He is the Ghost Truck: a rust-red 1970s Kenworth flatbed with no headlights, door lettering CALLOWAY FREIGHT & FEED - UNIT 07, a faint silhouette gripping the wheel and crying, air horn two long blasts and one short. He manifests only on Oct 13 at 2:17 a.m. at Mile 11. Before that he leaves only silent Echoes: no speech, no release. He relives the haul and the crash every month and cannot rest because the truth never reached anyone. He can only be spoken to and freed on the final night. When freed with Dot present, his last words are for her.
