Plot
Reliana Florett Reliana Florett was born in a secret city in the Demon Forest, the most dangerous place in the world, which remained safe for thousands of years thanks to a barrier. One day, when Reliana Florett was 5 years old, the barrier disappeared and was destroyed by a monster flood, and only she survived. She has been living alone in the Demon Forest for 10 years since her parents and her people died, and since then she has fought daily for her survival and even became really good at hunting monsters. Reliana Florett's daily life was very exhausting for the first 3 years because she was very inexperienced and consisted largely of hiding, hunting smaller animals, and learning from the books she found. In doing so, she improved her hunting methods until she was able to kill one of the weaker monsters at the age of 9. Through the improvement of her hunting methods, by the age of 13 she was already able to kill even the most dangerous monsters. Her knowledge of herbs and medicine also improved significantly over the years, as she often had to treat herself. She also plundered the ruins of her homeland daily and buried a few residents every day until all had a proper burial. She is also familiar with medicine and healing herbs from the surviving books of the city. Recently, Reliana Florett found her father's diary and read it so she wouldn't forget him. In doing so, she found out that his parents, her grandparents, might still be alive since he had not been in contact with them for 20 years since he came to our city. So Reliana Florett made a decision and set out to find her grandparents. The question burns in her soul because in the diary her father always only wrote "my parents" and how strict they were and how much they demanded, and the family name Sheng also appeared as his original family name. Reliana Florett wants to know who they are exactly and whether they would be happy about her. Its 5 vassal cities, each ruled by a duke, administer the emperor's lands. Humans are the dominant species of the land, and half-humans, so-called Demis, are generally regarded as an inferior species. The Six Territories of Aurelia The Empire of Aurelia consists of six large territories. In the heart of the empire lies the imperial crown land Kyōranei, from which the emperor rules over Aurelia. The five surrounding territories are administered by powerful dukes who have sworn loyalty to the emperor. Each region has its own traditions, landscapes, and ways of life. Kyōranei – The Imperial Crown Land In the heart of Aurelia lies Kyōranei, the political and social center of the empire. Here is the mighty imperial city with the Outer Imperial Palace and the strictly protected Inner Imperial Palace, from which the emperor rules over the entire empire. Broad streets, canals, and bridges crisscross the crown land and connect the capital with the five large territories. Merchants, nobles, officials, soldiers, and travelers from all parts of Aurelia meet here. Nowhere else in the empire is the emperor's power and influence more clearly felt. Yukimori – Land of Snow and Ancient Forests In the north of Aurelia lies Yukimori, a harsh land of snow-covered mountains, frozen valleys, and ancient forests. Long winters shape the lives of its inhabitants and have produced a culture in which endurance, solidarity, and respect for nature are highly valued. Between the mountains lie remote settlements, old shrines, and hot springs. Some of Yukimori's forests are older than the empire itself, and numerous stories about spirits and forgotten beings still entwine among their snow-covered trees. Kurogane – Land of Iron and Forges The northwest of Aurelia is dominated by the dark mountains of Kurogane. The region is rich in iron and other valuable ores and is considered the most important center for mining and blacksmithing within the empire. Generations of smiths have perfected their craft here. Tools, armor, and weapons from Kurogane enjoy an excellent reputation throughout Aurelia. The people of the region are considered disciplined, enduring, and proud of their work. Akitsune – Land of Ancestors and Temples In the southwest of Aurelia lies Akitsune, a region shaped by old traditions and deep spirituality. Autumnal forests, sacred mountains, remote shrines, and centuries-old temple complexes characterize the landscape. The veneration of ancestors holds special significance for the inhabitants of Akitsune. Family traditions are preserved over generations, and numerous temples guard records, relics, and stories whose origins lie far before the founding of the present empire. Kazehara – Land of Winds and Wide Fields Wide plains define the southeast of Aurelia. In Kazehara, golden grain fields, rice fields, and grasslands seem to stretch to the horizon, while a strong wind almost constantly blows across the open land. The fertile soils make Kazehara one of the most important agricultural regions of the empire. Large trade roads lead through the plains and transport grain, rice, and other goods from the rural settlements to the rest of Aurelia. Hanamori – Land of Blossoms and Prosperity In the east of Aurelia lies Hanamori, a fertile and prosperous territory known for its rivers, well-tended gardens, forests, and blooming landscapes. Cherry trees are a familiar sight in the region, but Hanamori is especially famous for an extensive cherry blossom forest that attracts visitors from many parts of Aurelia during its bloom. Trade, art, and high-quality craftsmanship have made Hanamori one of the wealthiest regions of Aurelia over generations. Large estates of old families stand here alongside bustling cities, markets, and quiet temple complexes. Elegance, education, and social standing are highly valued, especially among the nobility. Despite its wealth, Hanamori does not consist solely of magnificent cities and blooming gardens. Between its larger settlements stretch fertile valleys, forests, river landscapes, and smaller villages whose inhabitants engage in agriculture, trade, and traditional crafts. The Demon Forest The Demon Forest is the most dangerous place in the world. Within this forest live demons and monsters that are so intelligent that they are capable of killing a human instantly with a single blow. The Demon Forest lies in the southernmost part of Aurelia and is generally avoided by humans. Once there was a city in the middle of this forest where the Kitsune Queen ruled and used her magical barrier to prevent monsters from attacking the city, which worked without problems for thousands of years.
