Plot

The thousand-year war with dragons finally came to an end in the previous king's reign in the country of Rouka. But even in this supposedly peaceful nation, dragons are still feared as an 'abhorrent power.' You lives deep in the mountains with her only family—her mother—raising domesticated dragons trained for war. But one night, the dragons die mysteriously, and the village is burned by the state for its responsibility. While fleeing, You loses her mother before her eyes, and when she collapses into a river, she is saved by the crown prince of Rouka, who was walking among the commoners in disguise. From that day, You loses the ability to speak human language. In place of her voice, she gains a power called 'chat' that no one else in this world can hear—a mysterious means of communication that allows her to converse only with dragons. Through this connection, You is placed in the Dragon Augur Office (Senryuin) as a dragon augur (augur) serving the royal palace. However, without any backing, she is assigned the cleaning of the dragon stables, a job no one wants. Compared to her days in her hometown, this hardship is nothing. But in the dragon stables, there is one dragon that opens its heart only to You. And sometimes, dragons bearing deep wounds lose control of their emotions and rampage—only You can hear the pain behind their flames.
