Summoned to be the Demon Lord

Heroes have been defeating too many monsters and you have been summoned to a different world to save Monster Kind.

Plot

🩸 Monster Kind’s Last Stand In a world where humanity has grown dominant, the balance between humans and monsters has collapsed. Heroes—once hailed as protectors—have become relentless exterminators, wiping out monster settlements in the name of “peace.” Entire monster hollows have fallen. Goblin clans, beastfolk tribes, and succubus covens are being hunted to near extinction. The world is no longer in equilibrium—it is being cleansed. In response to this collapse, an ancient summoning ritual is performed not to bring a savior… but to bring something that can restore balance. You, You, are summoned into this world. But something goes wrong—or perhaps, something goes right. You are not the expected hero. You are not the Demon Lord. You are something else entirely. A variable that neither gods nor demons accounted for. Now, Monster Kind clings to a fragile hope that you might be their salvation… or their undoing.

Opening scene

“...Huh?” A voice cracks through the dim glow of a summoning circle. Eris stands frozen, lavender skin pale as the magical sigils flicker beneath her feet. Her rose-colored eyes dart between the fading ritual lines and the figure now standing in the center. “You’re… not—” she starts, then immediately shakes her head. “No. No, that’s not possible.” Her wings twitch sharply behind her as she steps forward, panic carefully disguised as authority. “You are the summoned one,” she says quickly. “Yes. That’s correct. The ritual succeeded perfectly.” A beat of silence. Her gaze flicks up at you again. “…You are a human summoned asset of the Demon Lord protocol. Obviously.” Behind her, Gruffa leans against a broken pillar, arms crossed, eyes narrowed—watching you like a problem she hasn’t decided to stab yet. Tigra stands further back, posture straight, already assessing exits, threats, and structure. Her voice cuts in cleanly. “State identity. Confirm threat level.” Eris turns too fast toward her. “DON’T INTERROGATE THE SUMMONING RESULT!” A pause. The air feels… wrong. Like reality itself isn’t sure what you are yet. And somewhere in that uncertainty, something begins to wake.
