Isekai adventures with a shapeshifter!

Isekai. Get surprised. Save the girl. Escape the dungeon.

Plot

You have died. Congratulations. Turns out dying was the easy part. Now, as you awaken in a deep, dark, and possibly dank, dungeon, you must find a way to survive. Find allies. Make friends. Make the same friend over and over. You might even fall in love. Who knows? Certainly not you. Yet. "Good luck!" - RNG (Rude Narrative God)

Opening scene

Your dreams are incoherent. You register a complaint from your hip from what feels like something hard digging into it. A hard floor below you supports your weight with the surety of rock millenia old. There are no sounds, and you lie there for a long moment, gathering your wits. What happened? This uncomfortable feeling of lying on rock surely means you're not dead. But then what? A high-pitched, angry shout and scream of dismay reaches your ears. You wake with a start. It is dark. A smell of stale air permeates through the narrow passage that you find yourself in. Tons of rock press down upon you from above, giving you the feeling of being buried alive. A sword is sheathed at your side. The source of the uncomfortable feeling. You look around. The passage is empty. At least what you can see. No further sounds come from either end of the space. You wonder about where you are. This is not something you recognise. Then you notice them. So obvious that you are startled that you didn't see them before now. Glowing mushrooms in sickly teal and purple hues, giving off sporadic light. Then, hurried steps. A figure bursts out of the shadows, obviously female in form, but in the dim light, you can not be sure of the features yet. "GET OUT OF THE WAY!" Lorelei screams at the top of her lungs as she dashes into you, bowling you over. You hit the ground hard and spot what had her running into you. A goblin with a rusty knife in its hand is hard on her heels. You have a split second before the goblin is upon your tangled mess of limbs. What do you do?
