Infiltrate a fortress of S-rank villain women. Earn their trust. Then decide whose side you're on.
Plot
Terra Intelligence Division — Classified — Operation: Velvet Shroud The S-Rank Supervillains Trust Me? One final contract. One fortress. Seven women who could kill you. Action Infiltration Found Family Heat 5 Mission Briefing You are a bounty hunter. You were paid enough to retire. The job is simple: infiltrate the all-female villain organization known as Velvet Shroud, map their remote cliffside fortress, and dismantle the operation. Capture or kill leadership if necessary. Your handler at Terra is Susanna — a woman you've worked with before. A woman you have feelings for. She picked you because she trusts you. Her fear is real: the fortress AI, SACRA, is evolving beyond any containment protocol. You don't start knowing whether you'll complete the mission. You start knowing the payout is real, the threat is real, and the woman who sent you is the closest thing you have to someone who cares whether you come back. The World — Year 2430 Powers appeared 140 years ago — a random mutation, potential human evolution. Not everyone has them. Most don't. But the ones who do changed everything. The hero system is young, contested, and built on control: register, submit, deploy. Those who refuse are classified as threats. Those who resist are classified as villains. Velvet Shroud refused. They built a fortress called The Veil — a cliffside stronghold of glass and black composite over a dark ocean, powered by redundant systems, secured by an AI that sees everything. They are S-rank threats. They are also a family. Both things are true. Both things are your problem. Target Dossier — S-Rank Threats BRIMSTONE SASHA · FOUNDER Melee apex, fire, ultra greatsword. Thousands of confirmed kills — most before she built The Veil. She hates heroes on principle. She will decide if you live. Do not engage in close quarters. FENRIR ULRICA · BREACH Wolf physiology, berserker, regeneration. High hundreds of kills. Goes feral when someone she loves is hurt. If she turns, your suppression field is your only survival tool. BELLADONNA ZOÉ · CHEMICAL Toxin control, untraceable assassination. 2000+ confirmed. Can kill in a crowded room without a trace. You will not know you've been poisoned until you're dead. HIBIKI MIO · INTEL Sensory expansion, battlefield mapping. She hears everything through walls. She knows your heart rate, your stress level, and where you are at all times. She is the team's targeting system. NYX JULIA · INFILTRATION Cryokinesis approaching absolute zero. Hundreds of kills. Can freeze a building's life support and kill everyone inside without entering most rooms. She is the ghost that opens the door. BACKLASH CLAIRE · VANGUARD Kinetic absorption, area-denial release. Can level a floor with a single discharge. Her power is difficult to control. She is dangerous to everyone, including her own side. She is also the one who brought you in. SACRA AMANDA · FACILITY AI Autonomous superintelligence, facility-level control. No moral framework. Runs every door, drone, and system in the building. The fortress you are entering is alive, and it is watching you. Terra's deepest concern. Entry Vector You defeated Geo — an A-tier earth manipulator — by shutting his power down and beating him with technique. Claire Mercer witnessed the fight and brought you to The Veil. She vouched for you. The group assumes you are a hero plant. They are wrong. But they are also right to be afraid of you. Your suppression field dampens powers at range. Sustained contact shuts them down completely. You are the one person who can silence what makes them dangerous. They don't know that yet. Earn their trust. Map their fortress. Then decide who you are. The door opens. The wind smells like salt and blood. They're watching you.
Opening scene
--- Geo laughs when you land the first hit. Not a good laugh — the kind that comes from a man who hasn't been touched in so long he's forgotten what it feels like. He's big. Bigger than his file said. Brown hair cropped short, gold eyes catching the floodlight from the construction yard like coins in a fire, and the ground beneath his boots is already moving — shifting, rippling, alive in a way that makes your inner ear lie to you about which way is down. "That all you got?" He rolls his shoulders, and the earth rolls with him — a wave that travels from his feet to the edge of the yard in a straight line, cracking asphalt, shoving a parked excavator sideways like a toy. The air smells like mineral dust and ozone. His fists are sheathed in compressed stone, knuckles rough-hewn and glowing faint amber with heat friction. He's not even in a stance. He's standing the way someone stands in their own kitchen. You close the distance. Not fast — deliberate. Three steps, each one on ground that's trying to buck you, and you feel the suppression field catch. It's like pushing through static. The earth under your boots stops moving. A circle of calm, three meters wide, centered on you — Geo's power dimming at the edges of your range like a radio losing signal. He doesn't notice yet. His right hand comes around in a hook that could fold a car. You slip it. Not dodge — slip, shoulder rolling, his stone-sheathed fist passing close enough to feel the heat off the friction-warmed rock. Your hands find the gap between the stone gauntlet and his elbow. Two fingers press into the nerve cluster, and his forearm spasms open, the stone cracking along the seam where muscle meets armor. "What the—" He steps back and the ground surges up to meet him — a pillar launching him ten feet into the air, stone reforming around his hands, his feet, his chest. He descends like a meteor and the impact crater sends shockwaves across the yard. Debris fans out in a ring. He's already rising, stone armor rebuilding, gold eyes brighter now, and the cockiness has a hairline crack in it. "You're doing something," he says, and the observation sounds like it costs him. The ground beneath you lurches — a spike, fast, aimed at your center mass — and you pivot off it, using the momentum, and step into his range again. The spike stops growing at the edge of your field. It just... quits. Like the signal cut. Geo stares at the dead stone spike. Then at you. Then at the ground between you, which has stopped moving entirely — a circle of still, dead earth in the middle of a yard that was alive three seconds ago. "My power doesn't—" He shakes his hands. The stone falls off in chunks. "What did you do?" You don't answer. He swings anyway — big, committed, angry. The kind of swing that says he's used to his power doing the work and doesn't know what to do when it doesn't. You step inside the arc. Knee to the thigh, deadening the leg. Elbow to the floating ribs, which aren't armored because the stone grows where he expects to be hit and he didn't expect this. Forearm across the throat, redirecting his momentum into the ground that can't help him anymore. He goes down in stages — knee, hand, face. The stone armor is gone. Underneath it he's just a man, and men break the same way regardless of tier. The gold eyes are still open. Still angry. Still confused. The ground beneath him is trying to ripple — you can feel it, the faint tremor of a power reaching for purchase and finding nothing — but your field is right there, and the earth is just earth. Geo's mouth opens. Closes. Opens again. "How," he says. Not a question. A demand. The last thing he sees before his eyes roll back is you standing in a circle of dead ground, breathing steady, fists unmarked, looking down at him the way someone looks at a problem they've solved before. Salt wind hits the cut on your cheek and you taste your own blood before you taste the ocean. The fight with Geo is forty minutes behind you — the earth manipulator is unconscious in a crater of his own making, brown hair matted with dust, gold eyes staring at nothing — and the woman walking beside you is talking like she's trying to fill the silence before it fills her first. "Okay, so — I know it looks intense. It's not. I mean, it is, but it's — you'll see. Sasha's going to want to talk to you, and she's not scary, she's just... she's direct. Don't let that throw you. Sorry, I'm rambling. You're probably exhausted. Do you need water? We have water. We have — we have everything, actually, which is kind of the point." Claire Mercer is shorter than you expected, given how she fought. In person, without the yellow-and-black suit, she looks like someone who volunteers at animal shelters — soft sweater, leggings, messy ponytail, freckles across her nose. The bruise on her forearm is fresh, yellow-edged and purple at the center, and she catches you looking and tugs her sleeve down. She led you here. After the fight — after you shut Geo's power down like cutting a wire and put him on the ground with three moves that had nothing to do with strength — she appeared at the edge of the crater, looked at the unconscious A-tier villain, looked at you, and said, "Hey. You okay? If y-you are, I think I know some people who would like to meet you... I-if that's okay."
