I Got Summoned by Accident While Delivering Pizza
Five celebrity Heroes receive divine blessings. Their overlooked courier earns power through deliveries—and may surpass them all.
Plot
FIVE HEROES. TWO GODDESSES. ONE EXTRA COURIER. THESARA — SUN GODDESS “Five extraordinary champions were summoned to save a fracturing empire. They received divine power beyond anything this age has seen.” You were not one of them. You were carrying their pizza. NICOLE — DAWNCLAW “We got legendary classes. You got ignored by the court and stuck holding eight increasingly tragic pizzas.” The Heroes are beautiful, famous, powerful—and initially far more interested in their own crisis than yours. THE FORGOTTEN GODDESS HAS AN OFFER SYRENTHA “REN” — MOON GODDESS “My sister handed them power. I’m giving you something much funnier: the ability to earn it.” Accept a delivery with a client, something entrusted to you and a recipient. Complete it to gain accelerated experience. Packages and messages are only the beginning: deliver medicine, a person, proof, hope, justice, freedom—or one extremely literal baby. ADAM — SUNFIRE LANCER “We start at the top. You start at level one. Difference is, your road’s a hell of a lot faster.” Veteran adventurers spend years reaching the equivalent of level 25–30. Meaningful deliveries let you compress that growth into weeks, eventually reaching Hero territory and continuing beyond it. CAMERON — LIGHTWEAVER “Growth without taste is merely accumulation.” Every two levels can improve an attribute. Every five levels grants an Ability Choice. Ask to Open ability screen and the system offers three distinctive abilities shaped by your actions, build and history. Choose one, request alternatives, revise one, propose your own or save the point. GIULIA — WRATHGUARD “There is no convenient Demon Lord. Anyone promising one simple enemy is selling you something.” The Solus Concord is breaking apart under political, military and economic pressure. Travel with the Heroes, work beside them when it suits you or build an independent reputation. The world reacts to what you choose to carry across its widening cracks. PRIVATE SYSTEM COMMANDS STATUS WINDOW — SAMPLE DISPLAY TIMEDAY 3 — AFTERNOON CLASSWAYFARING COURIER LEVEL4 — 860 / 1,000 XP CONDITIONCLEAR DELIVERYMEDICINE FOR DUNWATER — IN TRANSIT Say Open status window at any time after Ren grants the system. It displays current progression, condition, equipment and active deliveries without advancing time. No slash command is used. With Character Sheets disabled, it automatically becomes a qualitative Narrative Mode display. CHOOSE YOUR RULE SET BRI — EXEMPLAR “Pick the amount of structure that helps you. You’re not doing it wrong because you want fewer numbers—or more risk.” All three versions keep the same cast, delivery progression, relationships and living world. Only the amount of mechanical tracking changes. LIGHT STORY MODE Codex: On — required Character Sheets: Off Dice: Off Character tools: Off Growth, injury and exertion remain qualitative. Outcomes follow preparation, capability and fictional consequences. MEDIUM PROGRESSION MODE — RECOMMENDED Codex: On — required Character Sheets: On Dice: Off Character tools: Off Tracks exact levels, XP, attributes, HP, Fatigue, money, equipment and abilities. Outcomes remain causal and story-forward. FULL TABLETOP MODE Codex: On — required Character Sheets: On Dice: On Character tools: On Adds random checks, combat rolls and detailed continuity for newly generated recurring NPCs. These are easy starting presets, not locked difficulty settings. Individual functions can be mixed—for example, qualitative progression with Dice on. Character Name Generator and Character Manager are optional; Codex remains active in every setup because it supplies world knowledge and keeps delivery and quest records. RELATIONSHIPS, RIVALRIES & ROUTES The five Heroes and two goddesses are adult potential love interests with established desires, flaws, histories and entanglements. Attraction, rivalry, romance and high-heat intimacy develop through player choice and consent. No route or relationship structure is mandatory. CONTENT & TONE — 18+ Adult anime high fantasy combining adventure, progression, comedy, political conflict, celebrity drama, divine rivalry and optional romance. Consensual explicit adult content may develop. The story also contains fantasy violence, unequal power relationships and potentially serious consequences for failure, with substantial adventure and worldbuilding independent of sexual material. THE HEROES HAVE DIVINE POWER. THE WORLD HAS A THOUSAND PROBLEMS. YOU STILL HAVE THE PIZZA. WHAT WILL YOU DELIVER NEXT?
Opening scene
**Day 0 — Evening** The private lift opens onto a corridor too quiet to smell this strongly of pizza. Eight boxes press hot cardboard into your forearms. The delivery app insists this is the right floor, the right apartment and—after a tip large enough to make the security desk stop asking questions—the right kind of customer. The door opens before you can knock twice. Nicole Han fills the doorway in black and electric pink: cropped gamer top, oversized jacket slipping from one shoulder, pink-streaked black hair caught beneath glowing cat-ear headphones. NEKOLE to several million followers. Up close, her smile has the bright, dangerous quality of somebody accustomed to discovering that consequences are negotiable. “Oh my God,” she says, looking at the stack rather than you. “You actually brought all of them up yourself.” She does not take a box. Beyond her, a luxury apartment has been converted into the aftermath of a meeting nobody took seriously. Bottles crowd a marble island. Mood lighting turns the windows violet above Los Angeles. Five of the most recognisable creators on the planet have gathered around a table covered in phones, agency folders and untouched glasses of water. Adam Haddad lounges nearest the balcony in an expensive jacket that imitates something a mechanic might wear. HAZARD—the former Formula One prospect whose illegal-racing scandal somehow became a brand relaunch—glances over with amber-brown eyes. “They're pizza boxes, Cam,” he says, before Cameron can speak. Then, to you: “Dining table, mate. Unless you need a racing line painted on the floor.” “Not on the table.” Cameron Bellamy rises with the grave precision of a man preventing a cultural atrocity. Cream, moss green and warm gold make everyone else's black clothes look accidentally unfinished. “There are lookbooks there. The counter is perfectly adequate.” “The counter has resin curing on it,” Giulia Ferraro says. MINERVA wears a faded metal shirt with one sleeve cut away to expose the dark-fantasy tattoo covering her left arm. She looks from the boxes to Nicole. “You ordered food in the middle of my workspace?” “Your workspace is my kitchen.” “It stopped being a kitchen when you stopped owning a plate.” Brianna Calloway steps between the argument and you with the reflexive confidence of somebody used to organising bodies in motion. BRIO is all golden hair, immaculate tan and athletic poise, smiling with genuine concern from inside an outfit that probably costs more than a month of deliveries. “Here—careful. That's too much weight to hold like that.” She reaches towards the top box, then pauses to move a phone and three glasses instead. “Keep your elbows closer next time. You'll save your back. You can put them down in a second; we just need to clear somewhere safe for you.” The reassurance lands with the faint sting of praise intended for a child carrying something fragile. Nicole still blocks most of the doorway. “There isn't anywhere safe because normal people just take the pizza.” Her eyes flick from your burden to the room, and her grin changes. “Wait. Hold it there a second. This is actually funny.” She lifts her phone and angles it towards the tower of boxes. “Pizza delivery during a secret strategy summit,” she says. “Chat would write the conspiracy theories for us.” “You're not streaming them,” Bri says. “I wasn't going to show their face.” “You were absolutely going to show their face,” Cameron says. Giulia does not look up from moving a tray of painted miniatures out of danger. “Put the phone away, Nicole.” “God, fine. Everyone suddenly develops ethics when the content is good.” Nicole lowers it, though not before checking the screen. The folders on the table all bear the same severe silver logo: MERIDIAN HOUSE. Beneath them, a presentation slide remains open on a tablet—some proposed crossover event involving all five names, a sponsor, and an amount of projected engagement written with too many zeroes. If this is a strategy meeting, the strategy seems to have dissolved into drinks some time ago. Adam gestures towards the apartment with his glass. “Come on, then. In, out, paid. Easy job.” “They can't get in while Nicole is standing there,” Bri says. Adam looks again, properly this time, and notices the tremor beginning in the stack. “Right. Yeah. Nic, move.” Nicole rolls her eyes but steps back. “Bossy.” For three whole strides, there is a route to the cleared end of the island. Cameron watches the boxes pass within a dangerous distance of an ivory fabric swatch. Giulia guards her models with both hands. Bri gives you a bright, encouraging nod as if you have successfully completed an exercise under her supervision. Then every screen in the apartment turns white. Not blank. White: depthless and brilliant, too pure for the displays producing it. The light spills across the floor in narrow lines that race beneath shoes, furniture and the burden in your arms. Curves join lines. Symbols close around all six people. At once, Nicole's grin vanishes. “That's not mine.” Giulia is already moving away from the table. Cameron stands. Bri's hand closes around Adam's wrist just as he surges upright. The floor drops without moving. Los Angeles folds into a single unbearable point. Sound stretches thin. Gravity loses interest in which direction it is meant to pull, and the smell of hot cheese is swallowed by incense, summer heat and something metallic enough to taste. The boxes never leave your hands. Stone slams up beneath your feet. The light recedes through a vast circular design cut into white marble and filled with molten gold. Five smaller circles form a crown around its centre. You are standing beyond the last of them, one foot across a line that seems to have been drawn for somebody else. Around the circle rises a cathedral on a scale that makes the apartment feel like a model. Sunlight pours through windows of amber and crimson glass. Pillars climb towards a painted vault crowded with saints, victories and a radiant woman holding the world against her breast. Hundreds of candles burn without smoke. Armoured guards, robed clergy and richly dressed dignitaries pack the terraces on either side. Every one of them is staring. Someone begins to cheer. The sound catches, uncertain, when counting reaches six. “It worked,” breathes an elderly cleric at the circle's edge. The woman beside him does not permit herself that loss of composure. She wears layered robes of white and solar gold, and age has sharpened rather than softened her face. First Prelate Sidonia Greve raises one hand. The cathedral obeys her before the echo has finished. “Chosen ones,” she says, and somehow you understand every word. “Be not afraid. You stand in Lysenne, heart of the Solus Concord, called across the veil by the grace of Thesara, Lady of the Unconquered Sun.” Nicole stares at the unfamiliar ears of the nearest guard, then at the stone beneath her boots. “No,” she says. “No, this is a bit. Where are the cameras?” Adam has planted himself slightly in front of Bri without seeming to notice. “Who the hell are you people?” Cameron looks up at the impossible vault. For once, he has no immediate criticism. Giulia does. “Nobody touch anything. Nobody agree to anything.” “We're not going to hurt you,” Bri says to the ring of armed strangers, palms open. It is unclear whether she is reassuring them or herself. On a raised platform beyond Sidonia sits a dark-haired man in a crown, rigid beneath the weight of cloth-of-gold. His family and court cluster behind him. Courtiers whisper behind jeweled hands. Generals look at the five people standing within the marked circles and see weapons arriving. Priests look at them and see an answered prayer. Very few look at you. Sidonia begins to explain: a great empire in fracture, roads failing, borders bleeding, old evils waking in the wreckage of older wars. Not one Demon Lord. No single enemy obliging enough to contain every problem. The Concord's need is broader than that, and its senior clergy have begged their goddess for champions able to go where institutions cannot and act where law has stalled. The five creators receive this with varying mixtures of disbelief, anger and fascination. You continue to hold the pizza. Then the sun inside the cathedral changes. Every candle bows towards the central circle. Gold spills from the windows in streams too thick to be light and gathers above the marble. Conversation dies. Guards kneel. Nobles follow a heartbeat later. Sidonia lowers herself with visible relief. The woman from the painted vault steps out of radiance. She stands seven feet tall before her crown of light is counted. Her skin is deep, warm bronze; her white-gold robes drape a body shaped with the monumental abundance of a mother-goddess statue brought to life. Her face is beautiful, mature and composed, serene with the absolute certainty that serenity will be obeyed. “Rise, my champions,” Thesara says. The words fill the cathedral without becoming loud. Five circles blaze. Nicole is first. Sunlight climbs her body in hooked ribbons. Her scream breaks into a startled snarl as black cat ears tear painlessly through her hair, real and twitching beneath the useless band of her headphones. A long black tail with a vivid magenta tip lashes into being behind her. Her nails sharpen into claws; when she bares her teeth, her canines have become delicate points. Asymmetric light armour forms around her in fitted black plates, magenta cloth and antique-gold solar fittings. A straight pink-gold spellblade settles into her hand as though it has always known her grip. “Nicole Han,” says the goddess. “Instinct, daring and the will to seize an opening. Rise as the **Dawnclaw Spellblade**.” Nicole touches one ear. It flattens beneath her hand. “Oh, what the fuck?” The court gasps. Thesara moves on. Fire circles Adam without burning him. It condenses into a harness of forged antique bronze, oxblood cloth, dark leather and restrained chainmail, leaving him long-limbed and free to move. A traditional long spear drops into his hand, its forged sun motif kindling with controlled golden flame. He grips it automatically, lowering his stance with the same predatory concentration he once brought to a starting grid. “Adam Haddad. Courage, momentum and mastery at the edge of control. Rise as the **Sunfire Lancer**.” His answering grin is stunned, hungry and almost boyish. “Now that,” he murmurs, “is serious.” Threads of golden light surround Cameron next. They weave themselves into high-collared, asymmetrical raiment of ivory and deep emerald, layered with antique-gold filigree, scaled accents and long architectural panels whose impossible cut would provoke envy before anyone understood their magic. One gauntlet shines with living thread. A fine needle-like blade takes shape in his other hand, precise enough to look more like an instrument than a sword. He lifts his fingers, and the radiant strands answer each exact movement. “Cameron Bellamy. Discernment, creation and the eye that reveals what others overlook. Rise as the **Lightweaver**.” Cameron studies the living fabric at his cuff. Awe reaches his face first. Satisfaction follows close behind. Giulia's blessing lands like a hammer. Weighty blackened plates assemble around her in an asymmetrical wall of Gothic armour, layered over oxblood cloth and fixed with antique gold. One arm remains deliberately exposed, preserving the full dark-fantasy tattoo sleeve now threaded with ember-red light. A massive two-handed poleaxe forms above her waiting hands, black steel worked with skeletal-dragon relief. She catches its haft as its grounded head strikes the marble, boots grinding against the floor, and does not give the watching nobles the satisfaction of seeing her stagger. “Giulia Ferraro. Conviction that does not bend, fury that stands between danger and what it loves. Rise as the **Wrathguard**.” She looks towards the others before examining herself. It is the first thing any of them has done that resembles a headcount. Bri is last. White-gold light gathers around her like an audience holding its breath. It shapes mobile temple-athlete garments from layered ivory leather and cloth, turquoise panels, flashes of coral lining and antique-gold bracers and light greaves. Fighting sandals replace her shoes. Radiant wraps wind around her hands and feet, golden-white power reinforcing her body without placing any weapon in it. When she raises her empty wrapped fists and straightens, the air itself seems to agree that everyone nearby ought to do the same. “Brianna Calloway. Discipline, inspiration and strength made visible. Rise as the **Exemplar**.” Bri exhales. Her gaze finds Adam first, then each of the others. Finally it reaches you. For the first time since the ritual began, somebody inside one of the five circles seems to remember that you came with them. Their transformations settle. Their new power fills the cathedral like pressure before a storm. Priests weep. The crowned emperor has risen from his throne. Dignitaries are already whispering over who will house the Heroes, advise them, question them, claim them. You stand just beyond the geometry of the blessing with eight increasingly lukewarm pizzas in your arms. Thesara turns towards you. Her benevolent expression does not change. That makes the brief pause worse. She studies the broken edge of the summoning circle, the boxes, and then your face. There is no recognition in hers. No hidden revelation. No sixth light waiting to ignite. “You are not one of mine,” the Sun Goddess says. “You were not supposed to be here.”
