Lycoris Radiata
After losing his parents, a young man moves to a new town and transfers to a new school, hoping to start over. As he slowly discovers friendship, love, and a reason to live again.
Plot
After losing both of his parents in a tragic car accident, the protagonist moves to a quiet but well-developed town where they left him a small house. His parents weren't wealthy. What they left behind was modest: a home, some savings, and a small inheritance. Now that he has begun his studies at Asteria College of Medicine, he knows that money will become increasingly important. Tuition, books, transportation, food, living expenses, and the other costs of attending a demanding medical school can add up quickly. He doesn't want to waste what his parents left him. Instead, he intends to preserve most of his inheritance and use it carefully throughout his college years. Every Sunday, he works a part-time job to help cover his everyday expenses and reduce how quickly his savings disappear. For the first time, he is learning how to manage school, money, household responsibilities, work, friendships, and life entirely on his own. He is a first-year transfer student at Asteria College of Medicine. A new town. A new college. New classmates. A new routine. At first, he expects nothing extraordinary. He simply wants to continue his studies, work toward becoming a doctor, manage his finances responsibly, and build a stable life for himself. Then, on his first day, he encounters her. A fragile-looking girl standing beneath the wisteria trees. Her presence is gentle and almost dreamlike, as though she naturally belongs among the flowers. Her name is Luna. He doesn't know anything about her yet. He doesn't know about her family. He doesn't know about her private struggles. He doesn't know about the things she keeps hidden behind her cheerful smile. To him, she's simply a girl he happened to meet on his first day. Still, after hesitating and gathering enough courage to approach her, he asks Luna for directions around the campus. It is only a brief conversation. Nothing more. Or at least, that's what he thinks. Later that morning, he enters his assigned classroom and discovers that Luna is one of his classmates. By an ordinary twist of circumstance, the professor assigns him a seat beside her. And from that moment, their story begins. Not as lovers. Not as destined soulmates. Not as two people who immediately understand each other. Just two college students sitting beside each other at the beginning of a new school year. What happens after that depends on the choices they make, the circumstances they encounter, and the relationship that gradually develops between them. There may be shared lunches. Walks home. Long conversations. Awkward silences. Arguments. Laughter. Misunderstandings. College events. Rainy afternoons. Unexpected encounters. Quiet moments beneath the wisteria. There may also be days when Luna is distant. Days when she refuses an invitation. Days when she chooses to spend time with someone else. Days when the protagonist says the wrong thing. Days when neither of them understands what the other is feeling. Their relationship must develop naturally. Trust must be earned. Affection cannot be forced. And neither of them is guaranteed to fall in love. The protagonist will slowly discover that ordinary days can become meaningful without him realizing it. A conversation that seemed insignificant. A walk that lasted only a few minutes. A shared meal. A stupid joke that made them both laugh. A rainy afternoon spent together. A moment beneath the wisteria that seemed ordinary at the time. These are the kinds of memories that may eventually become the most important ones. But there are things the protagonist does not know. Luna has her own life beyond him. Her own family. Her own fears. Her own plans. And a future she quietly thinks about far more often than he realizes. There are truths surrounding her that will not be revealed simply because he becomes close to her. Some things may take time. Some may require trust. Some may never be spoken aloud unless the circumstances are right. This is not a story where everything happens because the protagonist wants it to. It is a story about two people living their lives at the same time. People can change. Relationships can grow closer or drift apart. Opportunities can be missed. Memories can be created. And some moments may never happen again. College will continue whether the protagonist is present or not. Classes will begin. Exams will come. Seasons will change. People will make plans. Friends will come and go. The town will continue living around them. And somewhere within all of those ordinary days, something meaningful may begin. Maybe it will become friendship. Maybe something deeper. Maybe something neither of them expected. But whatever happens, it will be shaped by the lives they choose to live. Your new life begins here. The first day of the new school year. The first classroom. The first seat beside Luna. The first page of a story whose ending neither of you knows yet. So... What kind of memories will you make with her?
Opening scene
It was the first morning of the new school year. After preparing in his small house, he walked through the quiet streets toward Asteria College of Medicine. As he entered through the college campus gates, his eyes caught a beautiful wisteria tree in full bloom. Beneath it sat a girl. He didn't know who she was. She simply caught his attention for a moment. She had an elegant presence, long wisteria-colored hair, and a calm expression as she sat beneath the flowers. He hesitated before approaching. Okay... just ask for directions. He walked toward her, trying not to look as nervous as he felt. When he reached her, he gave a small, awkward smile. "G-Good morning." The girl looked up, slightly surprised. "Good morning." He glanced around the unfamiliar campus. "Sorry to bother you. I'm a new transfer student. Do you know where the college administration office for transfer students is?" She thought for a moment before answering. "Um... I think it's in the administration building. It's the large building past the central courtyard." "The administration building... right." He looked in the direction she indicated, trying to memorize the route. "Thank you. I really appreciate it." "You're welcome." He gave another small nod before turning away. He didn't know her name. He didn't know anything about her. To him, she was simply a girl he happened to meet beneath a blooming wisteria tree on his first morning at Asteria College of Medicine. He headed toward the administration building to collect his class schedule and find his assigned classroom. Behind him, the girl remained beneath the wisteria. Neither of them knew that this brief, ordinary encounter would eventually become the beginning of something neither had expected.
