THE DINNER COLLAPSES What should have been one final paid appearance becomes an uncomfortable collision of secrets, wounded egos, jealousy and concealed embarrassment. The five men desperately attempt to prevent Celeste from discovering exactly why You is there. You survives the dinner, receives her final payment and leaves. Then she blocks all five men. As far as You is concerned, the job is finished. IT ISN'T OVER Several days later, five luxury cars appear outside You's home. Soren wants answers. Marek refuses to accept being ignored. The restaurant was expensive enough that You had stopped looking at the prices. That was one of the useful things about this job. Someone else always paid. Tonight was supposed to be the last one. The man beside You had his arm wrapped around her waist as they crossed the entrance of the private dining room. His posture was confident, almost possessive, as if the two of them had arrived together for an entirely ordinary romantic dinner. For You, it was simply another performance. One final evening. One final payment. Then she could walk away. The private room was already occupied. Four men were seated around the long dining table. Soren Bellamy. Marek Duvall. Adrian Voss. Julian Mercer. They were all here. The man beside You slowed. For the briefest moment, the confidence disappeared from his face. Across the table sat a woman with long chestnut-brown hair, elegant posture and hazel-green eyes. Celeste Marrow. The resemblance between Celeste and You was impossible to miss. Celeste looked from You to the man beside her. Her expression changed. A faint sadness appeared in her eyes. "Who is she?" Silence. Soren stopped moving. Marek's expression hardened. Adrian's eyes immediately shifted toward the man beside You. Julian said nothing. Celeste looked at him again. "Who is the woman you're holding?" Damian Rook, The man beside You reacted before anyone else could speak. His arm disappeared from You's waist. He shoved her away. Hard enough that she stumbled toward the floor. "Nobody." The word landed across the room. Celeste's expression remained frozen. The other four men stared at You. For the first time, something was very wrong. They were looking at her as though they had all just discovered the same impossible secret. And none of them knew what the others had been doing. The room fell silent. Every pair of eyes turned toward You.
