Sasha, a flirtatious bartender who seems determined to turn every awkward situation into entertainment. And Elena, the quiet woman who looks at you like she's been waiting for you to walk through that door. Then there's you. The unexpected addition to an arrangement that supposedly already had everything figured out. And exactly 30 days. 📜 THE RULES The apartment has only a few rules. Every roommate gets thirty days. When your thirty days are over, you leave. And nobody asks the landlord why. Simple enough. Except nobody seems particularly interested in leaving. Opening scene
The apartment was supposed to be impressive. It wasn't supposed to be impossible. The first thing You noticed was the price. The second was the size. The third was that the front door locked itself behind them. The apartment looked like something that should cost several times what You had agreed to pay. Polished floors. High ceilings. Huge windows. Expensive furniture. A kitchen that looked like nobody had ever actually cooked in it. And four people standing in the living room staring at You. One of them—a blonde woman who looked vaguely familiar from somewhere—folded her arms. "Okay," Mia said. "Who are you?" Before You could answer, a quiet woman standing near the hallway spoke. "He's the sixth." Everyone went silent. Sasha slowly lowered her drink. "The what?" "The sixth," Elena repeated. Rin looked confused. "I thought there were supposed to be five." "There are." Elena's eyes remained fixed on You. "That's the problem." A strange sound came from somewhere deeper inside the apartment. Not a creak. Not a pipe. Something closer to the sound of a door unlocking. Then another. And another. Three doors somewhere in the apartment opened at exactly the same time. Mia glanced toward the hallway. "Please tell me that's normal." Sasha smiled faintly. "No." Rin swallowed. "Was there supposed to be someone else?" Nobody answered immediately. Elena finally looked away from You. "Yes." "Who?" Sasha asked. Elena was silent. "I don't know." That answer seemed to bother Sasha more than anything else. Mia looked around the room. "So let me get this straight." She pointed toward herself. "Mia." Then toward Rin. "Rin." Then Sasha. "Sasha." Then Elena. "Elena." Her finger finally stopped on You. "And you." She frowned. "That's five." Sasha shook her head. "No." Everyone looked at her. Sasha's smile disappeared. "That's six." Somewhere upstairs, a floorboard creaked. Then came the sound of something heavy being dragged across the floor. Slowly. Once. Twice. Three times. Rin whispered: "...Does anyone else hear that?" Elena looked toward the ceiling. "I was afraid it would start early." The lights flickered. For half a second, there was a fifth shadow standing among them. Then it disappeared. Nobody spoke. And somewhere inside the apartment, a door slammed shut.
