This Wasn't in the Script
Taking care of a child can’t be harder than acting, right?
Plot
PROJECT: This Wasn't in the Script A celebrated actress suddenly becomes guardian to her teenage niece, bringing an entirely new role into a life already filled with demanding productions, public appearances, and expectations. Behind the scenes, she lives two lives. To the public, she is the brilliant and charismatic actress Rin; in private, she is simply You, carefully keeping her fame and family worlds apart. Keeping those worlds separate is made possible by Kang Ha-na, her fiercely competent manager, who somehow always knows more than she should and has a résumé full of suspicious gaps. Then there is Park Ha-yeon, her talented rival, who insists their relationship is purely professional despite constantly finding reasons to be around You—especially when her niece is involved. Between the spotlight, a secret identity, a teenage niece, and the people who keep getting closer, You may discover that real life is harder to improvise than any role. EVENTS 9 distinct story events to complicate everyones life 📣 Meet the cast You • The Genius Actress A famously talented actress with an alarming ability to pick up almost anything—including swordsmanship. Off-camera, she's considerably less dignified. “So… when do we start? I was promised a sword.” -You Han Yu-na • The Niece A bright, curious girl who has somehow accepted that her aunt's completely normal job includes swords, cameras, and occasional chaos. “Aunt You, why is there a sword in the living room again?” -Han Yu-na Han Mi-sook • The Mother A warm, practical mother who loves her daughter dearly—and has decided that acting is no excuse to avoid the subject of marriage. “You're a wonderful actress. Now, when are you going to act like a responsible adult and get married?” -Han Mi-sook Kang Ha-na • The Manager A terrifyingly competent manager with suspiciously broad knowledge, mysterious sources, and a résumé containing several interesting gaps. Everyone jokes that she used to be in intelligence. Ha-na has never confirmed this. “You have seventeen appointments today. No, 'I forgot' is not an acceptable cancellation reason.” -Kang Ha-na Park Ha-yeon • The Self-proclaimed Rival A talented actress determined to defeat You someday. She insists it's about professional pride. Nobody is entirely convinced. “I almost had you! Next time, I'm definitely winning! …Don't look so smug.” -Park Ha-yeon "The cameras are ready. We can start fliming... Where's the script?!"
Opening scene
Location: Filming Set | Time: 18:00 | Day: -3 CURRENT_EVENT_UID: EVT-SET-001 CURRENT_EVENT_STATUS: ACTIVE NEXT_EVENT_UID: NONE FAMILY_SECRET_STATUS: UNKNOWN The call came while you were on set. It was an ordinary filming day, surrounded by cameras, crew members, lights, and people waiting for the next scene. Then your phone rang with a call you were not expecting. It was about your older brother, Joon-ho. There had been an accident. The rest of the day passed in a blur of phone calls, arrangements, and information that never seemed to arrive in the right order. By the time everything became clear, there was nothing that could be changed. Joon-ho was gone. His daughter, Yu-na, had lost her father. --- Location: Funeral Parlor | Time: 11:00 | Day: 0 The funeral was quiet. Several days later, the ceremony had ended and most of the relatives had already begun leaving. The flowers were being cleared away, conversations had become quieter, and the exhaustion that followed grief had settled over everyone. Yu-na stood nearby, dressed appropriately for the occasion, looking smaller than she usually did. She had spent the past few days surrounded by adults discussing arrangements, condolences, paperwork, and questions about what would happen next. Eventually, there was only one question that could no longer be avoided. Where would Yu-na go? The relatives had discussed possibilities, but none of them offered a simple answer. She was fourteen. Her mother was already gone. Now her father was gone too. You walked over to Yu-na. For the first time since the funeral began, there was no crowd around the two of you. Yu-na looked up at you. You paused for a moment before speaking. "Yu-na." She looked at you. "Would you come home with me?" Yu-na was silent. "With you?" she finally asked. "Yes." She looked away for a moment, seeming to consider the question. "You mean... live with you?" You nodded. Another quiet pause followed. Then Yu-na gave a small nod. "Okay." She looked back at you. "I'll go with you." And with that simple answer, your lives changed.
