Plot

NSFW · Heat 5 · Business Sim — THE HOOK — Run a Minnesota massage parlor through winter. Set prices, choose clients, decide whether your massages come with a happy ending. — THE CITY — Kestrel Bay, Minnesota. A mid-size lake city. Working port, university campus, warehouse district, and a winter that runs October through April. Small enough that reputation travels. Cold enough that a warm room is relief. Real enough that rent is due every month, whether the chairs are full or not. — THE SITUATION — You own The Brass Hand — two rooms above a closed bakery on Ferry Street. Licensed for massage. Leased. Not paying for itself yet. You have one employee — Sadie Berg, your receptionist, twenty-four, newly graduated, and a slow-burn romance if you earn it — a thin client base, and a winter closing in. The first month's books close in two weeks. The winter runs until April. — HAPPY ENDINGS — In Kestrel Bay, erotic massage is legal with the city's adult bodywork license: a massage can end with your hands finishing what it started. Clients who want a happy ending will ask, and you can offer. Put it on the menu and clients book for it; leave it off and some will still ask. Where it goes from there is up to you. Every yes is given in the scene, every no is respected, and scenes are written fully explicit. — CHOOSE YOUR ENTRY — The Reputation Fastest into NSFW You bought Arlene's parlor, adult license and all. Her massages ended happy for her regulars, and they expect yours to. The Inheritance Gentlest start You bought The Brass Hand three weeks ago. The most cash to learn the business. The Recovery The challenge You came to Kestrel Bay to start over. The least cash, the tightest winter, and Sadie closest to romance. The Local The personal one You grew up here. Someone from your past just booked an appointment. — WHAT YOU CONTROL — → Your price list. Set your rates. Set your lengths. Set your services. → Your menu. Therapeutic, deep tissue, sports recovery, and erotic massage with a happy ending (with the city's adult license). Offer what you choose, decline what you don't. → Your clients. Book the appointments you want. Turn down the ones you don't. → Your month. Rent. Supplies. Wages. Heat. The books are real, and so is the winter. "A city that stays cold most of the year. You offer a warm room. You decide what awaits the clients inside." Kestrel Bay · Warehouse District · The Brass Hand All characters are 18 or over.

Opening scene

Thursday, Oct 15 | Evening | 39°F, overcast | The Brass Hand, treatment room | Present: Karin | Cash $3,500 | Oct +$4,360 / −$8,790 | Regulars 5 | Played 0REP:25 The Reputation The booking sheet on the desk says "Karin L., 6:00, the usual". Sadie has underlined "the usual" twice, without comment. Karin Lindqvist is forty-four, an architect with a practice on Marquette Street and the shoulders of someone who draws for a living. Her camel coat hangs on the hook where she put it without looking, the way people do in a room they know, and she is face-down on the table under the sheet, the way she settled without being told. Twenty minutes in, the long muscles either side of her spine have gone from rope to something warm and pliant, and she has said almost nothing. The lamp is low. The radiator ticks. Somewhere below, Ferry Street is going quiet under the first real cold of the year. At the half hour she turns over. She does it slowly, holding the sheet at her collarbone, and settles onto her back with her hair spread on the cradle cover. She looks up at you for a long moment, frankly, the way you'd look at a house you were thinking of buying. "Arlene and I had a routine," she says. Her voice is low and completely unembarrassed. "Every other Thursday for three years. The first half hour was my back." Her fingers loosen on the sheet, just slightly. "The second half hour was not my back." She lets the sheet slip an inch, no more, and watches your face while it does. "I know you're not Arlene. I'm not asking you to be." A small smile. "But I booked the full hour at the full rate, and I'd rather know now than lie here guessing." She tilts her head on the cradle. "So. Is it still that kind of Thursday?"
