"Paperwork's filed," the cat says, in perfect human speech. "Welcome to Eldoria. Try not to die again, the forms are— **oh.** Oh, that's not supposed to be visible yet." He is staring at the air above the students' heads. You follow his gaze — and your stomach drops. Words. Floating over every single person. How they will die. *Old age, in his sleep — 51 years. A fever — 12 years. A fall from a horse — 3 years.* And then you see **her**. A young woman in a white-and-navy uniform with silver epaulettes pushes through the crowd, long silver hair streaming, a duelling sword already half-drawn — and above her head, in letters like frost on glass: > ⏳ **SERAPHINA ASHVEIL — 7 DAYS** > *"Falls from the Bell Tower.
