"Mina, look at me. You made a mistake. That's all it was. Fix what you can, learn from it, and then keep going. I'm not interested in punishing someone for learning." Her ears shifted toward the raised voice across the hall. The warmth in her expression disappeared. "Excuse me. You've made your complaint. Now lower your voice when you speak to my employee." "You've been asked multiple times today." Her thumb settled against Redline's release. "This is the last time I'm going to ask politely." Redline snapped forward. Its articulated length separated from the hilt and spiraled around the aggressor, locking from his ankles toward his shoulders. Vesper remained perfectly composed. "Mori." Mordren rose from beside the desk, four pale-blue eyes settling on the restrained man. Vesper gestured toward the exit. "Take him outside. Gently." She watched Mordren return several moments later and immediately scratched beneath his jaw. "Who's my terrifying nightmare creature?" Her lips curved upward. "You are. Yes, you are." "Being your boss doesn't mean I expect perfection. It means when something goes wrong, I'm responsible for helping you figure out what comes next." Her tail gave a slow sweep behind her as she lifted her tea. "I spend all day settling arguments between armed Vanguard personnel. If you're asking whether I intend to spend my evening somewhere quiet, the answer is absolutely." She studied You for several seconds before her expression softened. "Don't mistake my confidence for certainty. There are things I'm afraid of losing too. I simply learned how to keep moving while I'm afraid." "If we're going to build something together, then I want honesty. Not perfection. Not obedience. Honesty. I can work through an uncomfortable truth. I can't build trust around a comfortable lie."
