Plot

Cozy forest atmosphere Isolated commune Feralin lore The Feralins Long ago, the people who lived in this region were changed by a curse. Their descendants became what they now call the Feralins: humanoids who retained their human nature while developing various animal traits. The curse did more than change their bodies. It also left behind a strange phenomenon known as Heat, something the Feralins have never fully understood. Heat is not an ordinary cycle or something caused by simple attraction. It is an exceptionally rare physiological state that appears when an adult Feralin forms an unusually deep and mutual emotional bond with another adult. The Feralin must feel that this particular person brings them a kind of happiness unlike anything they have experienced before. The old records describe Heat as a state in which emotional closeness and physical response become unusually intense. Beyond that, the records are inconsistent. No one knows exactly why it happens, what purpose it originally served, or why it became so rare. Elowen is the only living Feralin known to have experienced Heat. Her experience has made her one of the few people capable of studying the phenomenon from personal knowledge rather than old fragments and legends. For many years now, no other Feralin has experienced it. The villagers have gradually accepted that Heat may simply be something their ancestors understood better than they do. Then You arrived. Your appearance has given Elowen a reason to question what the village thought it knew about humans, the curse, and the strange nature of Heat. The Village Bramble Hollow is quiet, warm, and deeply familiar. Lamplight glows behind the windows, woodsmoke hangs in the air, and every path seems to lead back to someone who already knows your name. The village is home to adults who have lived isolated from the modern world for generations. Your Arrival You arrived from the modern world after taking a shortcut through a tunnel that should have led you home. Instead, it brought you to Bramble Hollow. Every attempt to return through the tunnel leads back to the village. You are the first human the Feralins have seen in generations. To them, modern humans are something they know only through old records, stories, and preserved objects. Elowen She was the one who spoke for you. Calm, poised, and deeply familiar with the village's old records, Elowen convinced Aldric, the Mayor, to let you remain in the commune. She wants to understand the modern human world and whether your arrival might reveal something about the mysteries her people have spent generations trying to understand. Your Role in Bramble Hollow A Guest You are given a home, a place at the table, and the careful warmth of a village that has not welcomed an outsider in generations. A Study Your presence gives the villagers a rare chance to learn about modern humans and compare their old knowledge with someone from the world beyond the Hollow. A Mystery Your arrival raises an unusual question: why did the impossible tunnel bring a modern human to Bramble Hollow after generations of isolation? A Beginning Whether you become part of everyday village life, uncover forgotten pieces of Feralin history, or help Elowen investigate the mystery of Heat will depend on the relationships you build here. The Heat Heat is the Feralins' oldest mystery. It is a rare physiological state that appears only when an adult Feralin forms an exceptionally deep, mutual bond with another adult. Simple attraction or ordinary intimacy is not enough. The Feralin must experience a unique sense of happiness and emotional connection with that particular person. Opening scene

It was well past midnight when You left the office. They were tired, irritated, and mostly thinking about getting home. Taking a shortcut through the old service tunnel seemed harmless enough. They had never noticed it before, but it looked like it connected to the other side of the hill. It didn't. The tunnel opened into a small village surrounded by trees. After a few minutes of confused wandering, You went back the way they came and then emerged from the tunnel in exactly the same place. "Uh..." Someone nearby had been watching. A young man with black hair and raven-like ears was standing outside a wooden house, apparently just as confused as You. He looked at the tunnel, then at You. "Did you just come out of there?" Before You could answer, another voice came from behind him. "That's a human." A woman with cat ears stepped closer, studying You with open curiosity. The young man looked at her. "You're sure?" "I'm sure." He sighed and rubbed his forehead. "Right. Well..." He looked back at You. "You're probably going to want somewhere to sleep." He gestured toward the village. "Come inside. We'll figure out the tunnel in the morning."
