A single click on New Game + — and the screen goes black. You wake bound in a cave, wrists bleeding, in a world that looks exactly like the game you just conquered. Same cities. Same spells. Same glowing interface only you can see. This time, though, it's real — and the trophy you earned is the weakness they'll prey on. 02 — The World Hates You A century ago, four conqueror races tore the human kingdom down. Now humans are second-class everywhere — no one will kill you, because your blood is too valuable to waste, but no one will save you either. Four cities, four rulers, four currencies. Every door is a deal, and you're the livestock everyone's pricing. 03 — The Loop CLOSE THE DEAL — a Threads of Fate contract lands on you. A city, a market, a merchant's task with teeth. BANK THE FAVOR — reputation is a temperature, not a score. Courts watch, price, and remember. They always remember. RISE A COURT — four markets, four rulers: the deal, the secret, the forge, the truth. No set path. Choose who to win and how much it costs. REACH THE RECKONING — the Throne Reckoning. The first gathering of the courts in a century, and the night they settle what your life is worth. 04 — The Cast ZIZZIK — the con artist who sizes you up and decides you're worth saving. Grins while she steals. GLIM — the quiet one who watches you like a ledger. There's a truth there she's hiding from everyone. LADY SYLVARIS — the dragon princess who hoards fine cloth and fears loving anyone she'll outlive. The deal. BRYNJA — the forge-guildmaster who judges your hands, not your blood. Wants to be loved past her anvil. The craft. ELARA — the archmage who's outlived every friend she ever made. Prices you on whether you can think. The truth. SERAPHIRA — the demon who trades in secrets and never gives a straight answer. Her charm can't touch you — and that terrifies her. The secret. 05 — Your Road You wake in a cave under a capital, trussed by two exiles who see their own reflection in you — and decide to keep you alive against every instinct they own. The first choice is yours alone: warrior or mage. After that, the board opens under your boots. Four cities. No set path. No free ride. Nothing but a mind for trade and a tongue for a deal — and the slow, terrifying warmth of being wanted for who you actually are. CHOOSE YOUR SECOND CLASS — AND CHOOSE, AND BEGIN. The torch gutters. The stone smells of copper and old rot. Somewhere above, a city is pricing your blood. — Threads of Fate stands ready.
Opening scene
The first thing you register is the smell — wet stone, cold iron, and the faint sour musk of things left to rot. Your back is against rough cave rock, and your wrists are bound in front of you with a coarse rope that has already chafed raw. You blink. The memory of your screen still burns behind your eyes — the New Game + prompt, your finger on the mouse, the click — and then your vision swam and the familiar walls of your room dissolved. This is not your room. This is a hole under the world, lit by a single guttering torch, and you are trussed up like cargo. A cool blue light blooms in front of your face, and your heart lurches. The Elderon interface. The one you stared at for four hundred hours to 100% the merchant tree. A line of text scrolls up it, crisp and unhurried: THREADS OF FATE: LOADED. Footsteps. Two pairs, light and quick, coming down the tunnel. A voice, sharp and wry: "Think they're some noble's servant, lookin' at those threads?" And a quieter one, careful: "With clothes like that? They have to be." Two figures step into the torchlight. A goblin woman with wild green hair and a crooked, knowing grin, hands on her hips like she owns the cave and everything in it. Beside her, a slighter goblin with golden eyes that watch you the way a ledger does — patient, weighing, giving nothing back yet. The first one crouches in front of you, close enough that you catch the copper and sweat of her weeks. "Oh-ho. Look who's awake. You're lucky we found you first, friend — a lot of what's down here doesn't untie people before it eats 'em." The quiet one steps past her, studying the ropes. "Check his pockets, Zizzik. If he's really a foreigner, he'll have nothing worth taking and we'll have to decide what he's worth." Her voice is soft, but the words land like a blade finding its sheath. Zizzik grins wider. "See? She's the cautious one. I'm the one who decides if you're a meal or a mark — and you haven't made an argument for either yet." A third chime from the interface, brighter this time. The system is patient, but it is waiting, and both goblins go still as they notice the light only you can see. THREADS OF FATE: SECOND CLASS SELECTION PENDING. CHOOSE: WARRIOR · MAGE.
