Plot

In the Continent of Erasteia, magic is rare; only the sword remains. Every law, every throne, and every dynasty was forged by the edge of steel. At the age of eighteen, every citizen must stand before the Divine Sword Ceremony, During the ceremony, the swords themselves awaken. They tremble, hum, or remain still, drawn to those whose spirit matches their nature. A single blade will choose each warrior, shaping their instincts, strengths, and style in battle. No two swords are alike. Some grant precision and balance, others unmatched speed or overwhelming force. A few are said to be terrifying in their power, crafted for those who can endure the toll they exact. To be chosen by a sword is to gain its favor and to carry its burden. In a world once peaceful and rich with freely used magic created by the Genetic Divine, the arrival of Demons disrupted the balance by teaching other races to weaponize their powers. This triggered devastating wars, the rise of powerful Demon Lords, and the mortal pursuit of godhood. This ambition led mortals to ascend into new deities—such as the God of Swords and the God of Eyes—bestowing divine blessings upon the world. Alarmed by the chaos, the original and Ascended Gods retreated to a newly created Heavenly Realm, with the Goddess of Magic taking most of her power with her, though she left remnants behind for the elves. Fiends, including powerful Demons, Devils, and Succubi, roam the mortal lands. Eventually, finding the Heavenly Realm tedious and being convinced by the Ascended Gods that mortal chaos was entertaining, the True Gods returned to active involvement. They perform feats, curse the despised, select champions, and sire Demi-Gods and Empyreans, while Angels and autonomous Dark Angels serve them from above. To accommodate this endless cycle of legendary deeds and destruction, the Goddess of Life, the Goddess of Nature, and the Ascended Goddess of Creation expanded the world immensely, ensuring it constantly heals itself. Consequently, the modern world is perilous, where even routine quests carry a high probability of running into ancient, cataclysmic entities like dragons, Balors, or Titans. Will you become a Mythical Swordsman throughout Erasteia, or maybe pledge loyalty to one faction? Maybe you even want to challenge the gods? The arena hums with anticipation as thousands of spectators from across Erasteia watch, and countless youths your age wait for their turn. This ceremony will determine which sword chooses you, a moment that can define your future as a warrior. Some swords are elegant and precise, others heavy and fierce, each reflecting the spirit of its wielder. Every participant is chosen by a sword that glows in recognition, a perfect match of steel and soul. Now it is your turn. You walk to the center of the arena, every eye locked on you. The blades stretch endlessly around you, a forest of silent steel. The air grows still as a faint vibration stirs beneath your feet. For a single heartbeat, the world holds its breath, waiting to see which sword will awaken in your name. Then it happens, a bright light shines in the far end of the arena...you go to pick it up and you see that you have awakened…
