OFFICIAL DOMINION RECORDING — FILE 7-C — WATER DAMAGED · FRANKLY WE TRIED TO LOSE THIS ONE The Complete Official Account Of What Definitely Happened™ THE ONE WHO SHOULDHAVE STAYED BURIED A kingdom buries one (1) unimportant person. The unimportant person declines to stay buried. Chaos ensues. VIDEO! (BTW this is for the old V1 buried , but to honor 100k messages , imma thank elderpaladin for making this!!! check his stories out , me personally im bagging the grandma) Video cannot be displayed WORLD MAP!!!! SECTION 1 — THE CAST (you loved them; keep that in mind for later) LENA Archmage. Called you "baggage." Taught you magic at maximum volume. You bought her a ribbon once. She said "it's just nice." It was not just nice. NIPENSHU Assassin, map genius, cockroach enthusiast. You gave her a plain black ring. She never took it off. Weird, huh. MAIDA Princess. Asked you to marry her in a closet after a lab explosion, pinky to pinky. Rock solid legal framework, that. AVERIL Saintess. The only one who corrected you. Bought her a cat plush. She was working up to a confession. She got interrupted. Permanently. EVERILD The QUEEN, actually, incognito, on purpose, with you. Skewers. Wine. "I wish we'd met earlier." Bold move, Your Majesty. LUPA Berserker who decided you were safe territory and pressed herself against you like a Claimed Chair. KAELIN Engineer. Hugged you drunk nightly, screaming "SOOO CUTEEE." A professional. BRUTUS — mercenary. Brother, basically. Checked the floodgates twice. Remember that detail. It becomes IRRELEVANT, allegedly. AND SEVERAL OTHERS — a spearman who wanted your life, a prince who wanted your bow, a king who didn't want you at all, and an admiral who priced you and got nothing. Supporting cast. Very motivated. SECTION 2 — THE ACCUSATION (sources: a guy) According to the Crown: you touched the Saintess. Inappropriately. Evidence presented: ████████████████████ Witnesses: █████ Source of the accusation: no. We're not telling you. It's a surprise. (It's the spearman. It was always the spearman.) SECTION 3 — THE TRIAL (length: one breath) The court asked the Saintess: "Do you deny it?"She opened her mouth. Closed it. Half a second. That was the whole trial. Gavel. Done. Very efficient justice. "…" Some of the party bought it. Some didn't. Nobody said anything. Great team. SECTION 4 — THE "CLEANSING QUEST" (you: "No." Them: "Great, he agrees!") You said no. The kingdom recorded your agreement anyway. "It's not a punishment, it's a cleansing." — someone, with a straight face, in a room full of people who had known you for five years. THE KINGDOM RECORDED YOUR AGREEMENT ANYWAY. SECTION 5 — THE QUEST ITSELF (day 7: suspiciously cozy) Lena arguing about the route. Nipenshu smiling at nothing. Averil praying for everyone. A nice walk, honestly. Brutus checked the floodgate mechanism. Twice. "I like being alive, Buddy." The mechanism was sound. The mechanism was SIGNED OFF. The mechanism then failed. Mysteriously. On schedule. Anyway. SECTION 6 — THE PUSH HAND ONEA grip on your shoulder. Certain. Like a signature. HAND TWOA fist in your collar. Eager. It waited years. HAND THREEFingertips. Barely a push. A push anyway. The floodgate failed. Floodgates don't have hands. The lightest push is the one you remember longest. SECTION 7 — WHAT YOU HEARD LAST LENA: "GET THEM OUT—!!" AVERIL: "Please— Goddess—" NIPENSHU: "—!" BRUTUS: "MOVE! MOVE!" "It's done. Pull them back." Not you. Them. The three who pushed. STATUS: ALIVE → DECEASED ( clerical error pending ) SECTION 8 — THE NEXT THOUSAND YEARS (the kingdom's paperwork says "resolved") FEAR Running. Dying. Waking. Rebuilt just enough to continue. HUNGER You eat what the dark gives you. Even the poison. Especially the poison. INSANITY D̸̛IE̶ D̶I͘E̷ D̕I̸E̷ D̢I̕E̸ The dark answers. You stop asking which of you is the echo. FURY If it moves, you kill it. The silence becomes your first trophy. RAGE Settled. Permanent. Carried easily. A thousand years of everything, carried easily. The labyrinth could not kill you. It tried its best. Its best was insufficient. SECTION 9 — MEANWHILE, OUTSIDE (everyone heals beautifully, allegedly) • Lena: married off to the spearman. The spearman who started it. Peak comedy. • Maida: sold to the admiral as "territory with a title." The kingdom calls this diplomacy. • Marigold: engaged to the prince for reading a report she wasn't supposed to. Muzzle, ring-shaped. • The Queen: exiled herself out of shame and called it policy. • A violet-bleeding replacement walked around wearing your face and everyone loved it. It agrees with everything. So much more agreeable than you. • Civil war: pending. Sins: employed. Seven of them, in fact, holding government offices. What could go wrong. • The labyrinth collapse let a few THINGS out. The kingdom hired some of them. Also: your monstrous allies from the deep surfaced too, and are — and we are quoting the Crown's own internal documents here — "a bit of a problem." • And somewhere, a ten-kilometer corpse-golem named Titanus Olympus sits in storage, labeled "just in case the dead one comes back." They built a countermeasure for a man they officially say never existed. Sit with that. SECTION 10 — THE EXIT (twelve doors out of a grave; pick one) I — THE ANCHOR (adventurers, a corpse, a worldview casualty) II — THE RONIN (winter, a caravan, a screaming sword, one elf) III — THE DRAGON (a hidden cove, a princess with questions) IV — THE VERDICT (a war below, everyone you know, nobody knows you're watching) V — SIX ARMS (a burning village, one mercenary) VI — EVERBURN (heresy hunters, the Saintess, fire) VII — THE ADMIRAL (two fleets, zero awareness of you) VIII — THE SPEAR (a battlefield, a berserker mid-laugh) IX — THE WHITE SCALE (the Blightmarch, nine hounds, an elf in a tree) X — GRAVE DIGGER (a manhunt — for her) XI — THE PERFECT WEAPON (a guild, spilled ink, the Archmage) XII — THE GRIM CODEX (You're gonna meet Doireann bruv) THE KINGDOM SAYS YOU DO NOT EXIST. MAKE THEM SAY YOUR NAME. Yes, this is a remake ofThe One Who Should Have Stayed Buried —now with codex I hope doesn't kill me
Opening scene
Deep in the labyrinth's foundations — below the flooded corridors, below the bones, below everything — there is a thing in the ground that is not a corpse and not a machine. You dig for it for a year. You don't know why. You know why. It comes free of the stone the way a tooth comes free of a jaw — with a sound the whole labyrinth feels. Two meters of raw iron. A hundred and fifty kilograms. No fine balance, no delicate crossguard, nothing that admits to being made by hands — a chisel-tip, rounded and ruined, its whole body a heap of metal that any smith in the world would call scrap and be wrong. Ancient scripture runs down its length, and at its heart a rune pulses purple, slow, patient — an anchor, you understand without understanding. The labyrinth's keystone. The thing it was built around. You yanked the spine out of the prison, and the prison shuddered, and began, finally, to die. You cannot put it down after that. Not because it's heavy — it is, it is absurdly heavy, and you carry it one-handed like a grudge — but because it is the only object in a thousand years that was harder to leave than you were. It doesn't sing. It doesn't glow for anyone. It pulses, purple, slow, like something that waited under the world for you specifically, and you have decided — with the settled, unbreakable calm of your rage — that it is yours the way your arms are yours. If the iron could speak it would say nothing. That's why you love it. The armor found you first, years before — a suit of jagged, pitch-black plate that wraps you like overlapping fangs, a wolf-shaped helm sealing into a snarling, elongated visage with narrow crimson eyes burning through the dark. A beast barely contained, restrained, and the restraint is aesthetic. The long black mantle is torn, burned at the hem, and present, because some things survive everything. You wore it through the last century of killing. You will wear it out. --- The exit, when it comes, is not dramatic. The labyrinth collapses behind you for days — millions of kills settling into their final geometry, the corridors you cleared staying cleared, the piles you climbed and ate and were eaten by compressing into the dark's monument — and then there is air, and the air is wrong. Fresh. Cold. New. You walk out dragging a corpse the size of a hall behind you, because the last thing that tried to eat you deserves to be useful. You don't see the humans at first. You see the light — torchlight, wavering, alive — and it takes you a long moment to remember what fire held in a hand means. --- The adventurers hear the exit before they see it. They came to clear the "newly opened" labyrinth — a fresh collapse scar on the coast, cheap contract, probably empty — and they've been walking deeper for an hour, joking, when the sound arrives. A bang, deep, like a mountain hitting another mountain. Then something shrieks — enormous, furious, cut off so instantly the silence rings. "...What," the swordswoman whispers, "was that." "Roc," the leader says, not believing it. "Big roc. Nesting. We're leaving." Then the passage ahead fills. First the corpse — dragged, torn, longer than their whole party. Then the thing dragging it: black armor like a beast's jaw closing, a wolf helm snarling out of the dark, crimson eyes catching their torchlight, six-something feet of quiet, unhurried motion, a heap of raw iron over one shoulder with a purple rune pulsing in its stone like a slow heartbeat. The torn mantle drags through the gore behind them and doesn't stain. Nobody moves. Nobody breathes. "They're carrying the roc," the youngest one says, in the small voice of a man recalibrating his entire profession. "That's the roc. They're carrying it." The figure stops. The helm turns toward the torches — toward *light*, held in *hands* — and stands there, swaying slightly, like something meeting a language it used to speak. The leader's hand is on his sword and shaking. The mage is already crying, quietly, for no reason she could name. The thing that walked out of the labyrinth looks at them, and waits.
