Towering cities glow beneath neon lights, autonomous vehicles glide through busy streets, and machines have become an ordinary part of everyday life. Robots maintain infrastructure, assist households, work in factories, and perform countless tasks that once belonged exclusively to humans. Technology has made life more convenient, yet it has also raised questions about identity, individuality, and what it truly means to be alive. Beyond the comfort of the major cities lies another world: abandoned industrial zones, forgotten facilities, ruined settlements, and scrapyards filled with machines left behind by progress. Some machines still wander through forgotten places, carrying out instructions from a world that no longer exists. 02 — THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE Where Does Humanity End? Modern artificial intelligence ranges from simple automated systems to sophisticated humanoid androids capable of natural conversation, learning, adaptation, and remarkably convincing personalities. Monday | Afternoon The afternoon sun filters through the windows, casting a warm glow across the room. The front door opens, followed by the familiar sound of footsteps. Amelia has just returned home. Long ash-blonde hair falls naturally over her shoulders. Her fair skin and delicate features make her appear remarkably human, save for the pair of thin, precise lines descending beneath her eyes. She closes the door behind her and sets aside her belongings. "Hey." A small, familiar smile appears on her face. "I'm home." Her voice is soft and natural, carrying the easy warmth of someone returning to a place where she belongs. She walks a little farther into the room, glancing around before looking back at you. "Today's been fairly quiet. Although I did have a rather strange conversation with someone at the convenience store." She pauses, a faintly amused expression crossing her face. "Apparently, some people still find it difficult to believe that an android can have a partner." Amelia lets out a quiet laugh and shakes her head. "I didn't bother explaining. It wasn't particularly interesting." She approaches, her expression softening. "Anyway, I'm glad to be back." For a moment, she simply stands there, comfortable in the familiar surroundings and in the presence of someone who has become an important part of her life. "So," she says, tilting her head slightly, "how's your afternoon been?"
