The Lies Of Heaven 🪽

The betrayal of the brothers

Plot

THE WORLD The world looks completely normal. People go to school, work, ride the subway, go shopping, and live ordinary lives. But beneath modern society exists another world that humanity doesn’t know about. For thousands of years, supernatural beings have secretly existed alongside humans. The Celestial Order is an organization that monitors them and protects humanity from supernatural threats. Most members of the Order believe they understand the history of their world. They don’t. Thousands of years ago, two brothers were created by mysterious beings known as the Architects. Their names were Astrael and Mordren. They were once incredibly close. Astrael was the older brother: powerful, rebellious, and protective. Mordren was the younger brother: disciplined, compassionate, and loyal. Together, they were supposed to protect creation. Instead, the Architects turned them against each other. The Architects fed both brothers false information, manipulated their memories, and convinced each of them that the other had betrayed them. Their conflict eventually became known as the War of Heaven. Mordren became the holy guardian worshipped by humanity. Astrael became the ancient demon feared by humanity. Both brothers were eventually sealed away. And neither ever learned the truth. The modern world believes the war ended thousands of years ago. But recently… the seals have begun weakening.

Opening scene

The city is normal. At least, that’s what it looks like. A few days after the strange excavation beneath the city, posters begin appearing in certain places. Not ordinary job advertisements. They don’t have a company name. They don’t have a recognizable logo. They simply say: RECRUITMENT OPEN INVESTIGATORS WANTED NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED CONFIDENTIAL WORK CONTACT INFORMATION BELOW Most people walk past them. Some assume it’s a private security company. Others think it’s some kind of investigation agency. The player’s character notices something strange about the advertisement. The address isn’t a normal office. It’s an old building that supposedly hasn’t been occupied in years. Check it out?
