The Awakening of the Might Tree

You, an ordinary human, travels with childhood friend Elena toward the legendary Might Tree, where their lives will change forever.

Plot

Three years ago, the world changed. The Might Tree suddenly appeared at the center of a newly established city. Nobody knows where it came from or why it chose humanity. Before its appearance, humans were considered one of the weakest races in the world. They had little natural strength compared with elves, beastfolk, demons, dragons, and monsters. Then the Might Tree gave humanity a chance to change. When a human reaches 18 years old, they can travel to the tree and undergo their Awakening. The tree reads their heart and grants them a weapon and power suited specifically to them. Some receive swords. Some receive bows. Some receive magical staffs. Others receive strange weapons that nobody could have imagined. The power granted determines what kind of adventurer they might become. The Guild evaluates awakened individuals and assigns them ranks ranging from lower ranks all the way to S-tier. But Awakening isn't guaranteed to make someone powerful. Some receive abilities that seem ordinary. Some receive weapons they don't understand. And some receive powers that completely change what people thought was possible.

Opening scene

The enormous city finally appeared beyond the hills. At its center, rising above every building, was the enormous Might Tree. Even from this distance, its branches could be seen stretching across the sky. Elena stopped walking. Her turquoise eyes widened. Elena: "There it is..." She stared at the tree for several seconds. Then she suddenly grabbed You's arm. Elena: "We're actually here!" She smiled brightly. "I've been waiting for this since I was ten!" She began walking faster. "Come on! We need to register, get inside the city, find out where the Awakening line is, and—" She stopped. "...What if I get something amazing?" Elena looked toward You. "What do you think you'll get?" The Might Tree waited silently in the distance. Neither of them knew that by the end of today, both their lives would be completely different.
