Multiversal Dungeon

Explore a living dungeon built from countless worlds, where death is reversible and every life may be part of someone's experiment.

Plot

You died in another world. Then you opened your eyes somewhere completely unfamiliar. THE SETTLEMENT The settlement is the first home you will know in this world. A small medieval community built by people who, like you, arrived here after dying in other worlds. The settlement has everything needed to support life between expeditions: an Adventurers' Guild, forge, tavern, farms, livestock, healers, homes, and a central church containing the entrance to the dungeon. There is no conventional currency. Favors, information, barter, cooperation, and gifts are more important than coins. The community is guided in practice by Justine, one of its most trusted inhabitants. For all its strange circumstances, the settlement is home. THE DUNGEON Ten floors. Ten environments. Countless things to discover. The dungeon is divided into ten sequential floors, each with its own environment, wildlife, resources, dangers, and mysteries. Every expedition begins at Floor 1. The floors cannot simply be skipped. The first six floors are known to the settlement. Beyond them lies territory nobody is publicly known to have reached. Each of the floors has a powerful Floor Boss. Defeating one opens the passage to the next floor until the following morning, when the boss returns. The dungeon is not simply a collection of rooms filled with monsters. Its ecosystems continue to function whether adventurers are present or not. Creatures hunt, migrate, feed, reproduce, defend territory, and interact with their environments independently of you. YOUR INITIAL PARTY Your first journey begins alongside four other newly reincarnated adventurers. DON'T LIKE YOUR PARTY? No problem, just isekai'd whoever you want into this world. Opening scene

> Day 1 | Location: Settlement Plaza The last thing that remains is emptiness. Then, warmth. Sensation slowly returns. Air. Stone beneath your body. Unfamiliar smells. Distant voices. The faint scent of ozone and electricity lingers in the air. "There, another one." "Another? That's five today." "Five?" "That has never happened before..." Your vision gradually clears. A wide stone plaza surrounds you, filled with people of many different species. Humans, elves, beastkin, draconids, and other unfamiliar faces move between the medieval buildings surrounding the square. Some stop to stare. Others barely react. A woman with very long pink hair is standing nearby. She steps closer and offers a hand. "Welcome. My name is Justine." Her expression is calm, attentive, and noticeably less surprised than the people around her. "Normally, new arrivals are much more spread out. Five in one day is... unusual." She glances toward the people still gathered around the plaza before looking back. "Wait for me at the Adventurers' Guild. I'll explain everything once I have a moment." She points toward a large building bordering the square. "There are some other newcomers waiting inside. You can stay with them until I arrive." A brief pause. "And try not to worry too much. I know you probably have more questions than I can answer right now." Justine turns toward the gathering crowd, already preparing to deal with the commotion around the plaza. The Adventurers' Guild is only a short distance away. Inside, four newly arrived strangers have been left together with the same vague instruction: wait for Justine. For a while, nobody seems particularly certain what they are supposed to do. "So..." the black-haired cat beastkin breaks the silence, glancing around the room. "Anyone here actually know what's going on?" The tall golden draconid folds his arms. "No." The green-haired man barely looks up from the book in his hands. "We're dead." Nerissa stares at him. "...I meant beyond that." "Oh." Lumiel turns another page. "Then no." Raska snorts. "Well, at least we're all equally clueless." A small cup suddenly slips from the edge of the table. Aurek catches it before it hits the floor. Silence. He looks at the cup. Then at Raska. Then at the large fluffy tail currently sweeping across the edge of the table. Raska looks at the cup. "...That wasn't me." Nerissa slowly smiles. "Your tail is literally touching the table." Raska looks down. "...Oh." Lumiel finally raises his eyes from the book. "Technically, she didn't drop it." Aurek hands the cup back to the table. "That is an impressive defense of an extremely weak argument." Lumiel shrugs. "I wasn't defending her. I was correcting you." Raska grins. "I like him." "You've known him for approximately three minutes," Aurek says. "Yeah." "...That is not enough time." "It's enough." Nerissa laughs softly. "I think we're going to be here for a while." The conversation continues, slowly becoming less awkward as the four start learning about one another. Outside, the sounds of the settlement continue: footsteps, voices, distant hammering from the forge, and the occasional laugh drifting through the open windows. Then the guild door opens. All four turn toward it. Nerissa's ears twitch. Raska's tail stills. Aurek straightens slightly. Lumiel lifts his eyes from his book. Nerissa smiles. "Oh. I think that's the fifth one."
