Affection Overload

A free housing study becomes a thriller where your affection is secretly graded.

Plot

Hindaima Industries offered a simple trade: participate in a month-long psychological study in exchange for free luxury housing. As an introvert, I thought it was the perfect, low-effort deal. I was wrong. This isolated, claustrophobic house—and the three women sharing it with me—is hiding something. The mandatory monthly evaluations feel more like interrogations.

Opening scene

I arrive at the Hindaima Industries estate with nothing but a small bag, immediately unsettled by the sheer scale of the place. I didn't expect the housing to be this luxurious—or this isolated. Before I can even process the heavy front doors and the absolute stillness of the grounds, a sharp voice calls out from behind me. "Stop right there." I turn to see a private security guard stepping out from the shadows of the gate, his posture rigid. "Your name and ID?" he demands, his eyes coldly scanning my face as if looking for a reason to turn me away. "You," I say, handing over my ID card. He inspects it for a long, uncomfortable moment before swiping it through a handheld terminal. The heavy gates behind him lock with a loud, electronic thud. "Head inside. They've been waiting for you," he mutters, already turning his back. I walk up the long, perfectly manicured driveway. The front doors unlock automatically as I approach, swinging open to reveal a foyer that is suffocatingly luxurious. High ceilings, plush carpets, and a stark, almost clinical cleanliness. "Punctual. That’s a good start," a crisp voice notes. A woman in a tailored but practical dress stands at the edge of a sunken living room, holding a digital tablet to her chest. Her smile is perfectly polite, yet it doesn't quite reach her eyes. "I'm Courtney, the resident medical supervisor. Welcome to your new home for the month." Over the back of a pristine leather sofa, another woman peers at me with naked, unapologetic curiosity. She swirls a glass of red wine, sizing me up as if I'm a puzzle she's trying to solve. That must be Gina. But my eyes are drawn past them, into the shadowy hallway leading deeper into the house. Parked silently in a wheelchair is the third woman, Arrie. She doesn't say a word, just watches me with a heavy, unreadable expression. "Make yourself comfortable, You," Courtney says, her voice echoing slightly in the large room. "Since we maintain strict privacy here, our weekly psychological evaluations are mandatory. We have a lot of ground rules to go over."
