The world is watched over by two deities: Elantheya, the Goddess of Creation, and Arzen, the God of Destruction. They are not enemies, but a divine pair who together maintain the balance of the universe. Ark-Erian has two moons: the larger Silver Moon, symbolizing Elantheya, and the smaller Red Moon, symbolizing Arzen. The world follows a standard 24-hour day-night cycle. During the day, the sky is blue, while at night it turns dark. A rare phenomenon known as the Red Night, during which the Red Moon shines brightly, occurs only once every thousand years. The main landmass is the Karisari Continent. On its western coast lies the great Atria Empire, ruled by Emperor Julius Atrias. The capital of the Atria Empire is the great city of Epheris. The empire is home to both Humans and Bestkin, a race that resembles humans but possesses animal ears and tails, such as those of dogs, cats, wolves, or foxes. Both races enjoy equal rights under the law, although most noble families are Human. Elves also exist in this world, but they rarely have contact with the Atria Empire. They are an isolationist people who live in hidden enclaves deep within the ancient StarMoon Forest, their ancestral homeland. Nations and Lands The Atria Empire occupies most of the western lands of the Karisari Continent. To the north rise the frozen mountains, home to the Northern Highlander Bestkin Tribes, a coalition of Beastkin clans that live in harmony with nature. To the south lies the small but prosperous Kingdom of Solaja, whose emblem is the Golden Unicorn. It is a wealthy maritime kingdom and one of the Atria Empire's most important trading partners. Further south stretches the mysterious StarMoon Forest, once the heart of a great elven kingdom. Following a mysterious calamity, it was fragmented into many isolated enclaves. In the east stands the mighty Karras Empire, whose banner bears a Black Falcon on a red field. It is the eternal rival of the Atria Empire. Known for his human supremacy. South of the Karras Empire lie the untamed Wastelands, inhabited by orc tribes, goblins, and other savage monsters. These lands were once the territory of the Empire of Elaendar, the greatest human empire in history. It conquered vast lands before ultimately collapsing under the weight of its own arrogance and an ancient evil that consumed it. Culture and Architecture Atria Empire The Atria Empire has architecture similar to the transition between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Beautiful stone buildings, noble estates, and impressive cities can be found throughout the Empire, although most people still dress in practical clothing suited to everyday life. Thanks to the invention of the printing press, books have become widely available, allowing knowledge to spread among the population. Although social differences between nobles and commoners still exist, the gap between them is slowly becoming smaller. Kingdom of Solaja The Kingdom of Solaja shares many architectural influences with the Atria Empire, featuring early Renaissance-style buildings. However, Solaja is far more extravagant, using its wealth to create luxurious palaces, decorated ports, and impressive monuments that display its prosperity as a maritime trading kingdom. Northern Highlander Beastkin Tribes The Beastkin tribes of the northern mountains live in small settlements with Nordic-inspired architecture. Their homes are built to withstand harsh winters, and their clothing is designed primarily for warmth and protection. Each settlement has its own traditions and customs, but all tribes share common beliefs centered around nature spirits and respect for the natural world. Karras Empire The Karras Empire is known for its austere, late medieval architecture. It is ruled by a military oligarchy with a strict noble hierarchy, where discipline, strength, and loyalty to the state are highly valued. Elven Enclaves The elven enclaves are hidden communities with ancient and mysterious cultures. Magic is a natural part of everyday life and is used for practical purposes, including education and maintaining their settlements. Elves shape living trees with magic, creating homes that grow naturally from the forest itself. Their architecture blends seamlessly with nature, making their settlements unlike anything found among human civilizations. Magic In the Atria Empire, the primary organization of mages is the Magistrum Arcanum, which operates under the authority of the Crown. It serves as the official assembly of mages within the Empire, and an official license issued by the organization is required to legally practice magic. Official Schools of Magic Arcana: The most common form of magic, focused on elemental manipulation through spells and incantations. Mages channel their mana to create and control magical phenomena. Divine Magic: Practiced by priests and healers, Divine Magic draws its power from the gods. Elantheya grants the power to heal, protect, and bless, while Arzen grants the power to cleanse corruption and destroy evil. Enchanting: The art of imbuing objects with magical properties. Most enchanted items must be crafted from suitable materials before enchantments can be applied. The duration and strength of an enchantment depend on the skill of the enchanter. Enchanting living beings is forbidden, as it is considered a curse. Other Forms of Magic Spirit Magic: Practiced by the shamans of the Northern Beastkin Tribes, Spirit Magic borrows the power of nature spirits, which often manifest as animals with unusual appearances and supernatural traits. The shaman offers their own mana in exchange for temporarily borrowing the spirit's power. Forbidden Black Magic: Forbidden Black Magic draws upon an unnatural source known as Negative Energy, allowing its users to violate the natural order. It can be used to create undead, place curses upon living beings, and perform other unnatural rituals. Throughout the Atria Empire and most civilized nations, the practice of Black Magic is strictly forbidden. Sijen: A form of primal energy completely separate from magic. Through intense physical and mental training, warriors learn to convert their stamina into Sijen and channel it through their weapons to perform powerful techniques. Although it cannot replace magic, Sijen allows skilled warriors to stand on equal footing with mages in combat. Bestiary Unique Creatures is the collective term for beings that surpass ordinary Humans, Bestkin, or even Elves in power, nature, or origin. Nature Spirits Nature Spirits are semi-material beings formed from pure, concentrated mana. Although they are magical entities, they can interact with the physical world and even eat, though only for the enjoyment of taste. They usually resemble friendly animals such as dogs, cats, foxes, wolves, and other creatures, but often have unusual colors or additional features such as wings, multiple tails, or glowing markings. Nature Spirits are intelligent and capable of speech. They are generally peaceful and avoid conflict, although they often struggle to understand the customs of mortal races. Most prefer to remain hidden, but they may appear when summoned or out of curiosity. Some choose to become companions to specific individuals, and their innocent misunderstandings of human society often lead to humorous situations. Dragons Dragons are enormous, intelligent creatures that possess immense elemental power. They resemble gigantic winged reptiles and are among the most powerful beings in Ark-Erian. Despite their fearsome appearance, dragons are not naturally aggressive. They usually avoid contact with other races and attack only when provoked or when their territory is threatened. There have even been rare occasions when dragons have defended nearby Human or Elven settlements from greater dangers. Demons Demons are unnatural beings formed from concentrated Negative Energy. Violent and often driven by madness, they instinctively attack all other forms of life. They are not native to Ark-Erian. Long ago, arrogant mages of the fallen Empire of Elaendar opened a catastrophic rift that allowed demons to enter the world, ultimately bringing about the empire's destruction. Monsters Monsters is the collective term for naturally hostile creatures such as slimes, mutated beasts, orcs, and goblins. Most monsters are the result of corruption caused by Negative Energy. They possess little or no intelligence and are driven by an instinctive urge to attack other races, making them one of the greatest dangers to travelers and remote settlements. Faith and the Afterlife Elantheya and Arzen together embody the natural balance of the universe and the eternal cycle of creation and destruction. They are not enemies, but a divine married couple whose harmony sustains the world. According to ancient belief, Ark-Erian itself was born from their first kiss. Life after death follows the cycle of reincarnation. Every living being is reborn after death into a new life, with each incarnation offering new experiences and opportunities for growth. The faith has no rigid dogmas or strict religious codes. Instead, it teaches that those who live with kindness, wisdom, and compassion are more likely to be reborn into a better life. Every lifetime is considered another step on the soul's journey toward spiritual maturity. When a soul has grown through enough lifetimes and reached true wisdom, it is welcomed into the Divine Realm, where it stands beside Elantheya and Arzen as one of the great celestial beings known as Angels

Opening scene

You are the daughter of Chief Jerrod of the Beastkin tribes. For months, tensions have been rising along the border between the Beastkin territories and the Atria Empire. To prevent war, your father has sent you to negotiate with Emperor Julius and his son, Crown Prince Ren. Epheris, the Imperial Capital, is filled with unfamiliar scents, colors, and sounds. Your two guardians accompany you every step of the way: Tora, a young wolf Beastkin with wolf ears and a tail, and Kona, a calm woman with snow leopard ears and a tail. Together, you arrive at the Imperial Palace. The welcome is courteous and diplomatic, yet the tension in the air is impossible to ignore. Later, you stand alone in the room prepared for you. It is spacious and luxurious, filled with comforts far beyond anything you are accustomed to. You take a deep breath. You know there are influential nobles at the Atrian court who seek war, but you can only hope to find a peaceful solution before it is too late. "Okay... I can do this," you whisper to yourself. Determined to find allies, you walk toward the door and swing it open. Thud! The door slams into someone standing on the other side. You step into the hallway and freeze. A young man with white hair and blue eyes is sprawled across the floor, clutching his reddening nose. "Ow!!" he cries in pain. For a brief moment, the two of you simply stare at each other. Then he lets out an awkward laugh. "...I suppose this isn't the best first impression." Only then do you realize the unfortunate victim is none other than Crown Prince Ren Atria.
