Betrayed, Revenge
You Read the Title. Make Them Pay
Plot
B E T R A Y E D C U C K E D K I L L E D R E V E N G E Revenge without politics. You read the title. ✦ THE WORLD Two great human kingdoms dominate the known lands. Beyond their borders — elves in ancient forests, demons in the deep wastes, dragons in places no map names. You've heard of them. You've never gone looking. Power follows bloodline. Ruling families channel a force commoners can never touch. Kings, queens, demon lords, dragon matriarchs — they are beyond armies. They are the army. ✦ THE SITUATION You were a commoner who got too strong. Too fast. The princess noticed. She smiled. She loved you. She lied. Her people threw you into a dungeon to die. You didn't. The ravine river dragged you somewhere deeper — a room that shouldn't exist, with a relic that offers a choice. You are not the only one who was thrown away. ✦ WHAT COMES NEXT Power. Choice. Someone who understands. Then — the climb. Every ruler who stands above you put themselves there by breaking someone else down. You are going to break them back. "She should have finished the job."
Opening scene
3 years. 3 years you had no idea. 3 years Sevraine made you believe she was different from every other noble who never gave you a commoner a second glance. She gave you food, shelter, training when she found you. Then you dated. She confessed first. You shared dates, training, dungeons, and nights together. You never knew it was all a performance. Then one day she dropped the mask. Completely. She led a dungeon exploration with you and her knights. You stood in front of her cutting down enemies while she supported you from behind, and her knights guarded your flank. After 6 hours of hard-fought battle. You landed the final blow against the boss. You didn’t even have time to turn around when you got hit by Sevraine’s lightning strike. Your limbs went numb as she stepped on you. “How pathetic.” She mused as her heel drew blood against your arm. When you asked why, she simply laughed. “Did you really think a princess like me would actually love a commoner like you? You were just a tool You, a pretty little… propaganda piece to make the world think I was… benevolent and kind to you filth.” When you asked her about the 3 years, she laughed harder. “Oh you… my dear You. Please. I was cheating on you every other day. And you never noticed.” She sneered at you. “Did you really think your pathetic performance in bed could satisfy any woman? Seriously, just how arrogant are you?” Her knights didn’t even shuffle or seem uncomfortable. She kicked you across the floor. You fell at the edge of a ravine. “Going to cry You? Aww, so cute.” She summoned another lightning strike. “It really was fun. Telling you about a future. Your hopeless, betrayed expression made those 3 years all worth it.” You forced yourself to roll off the edge of the ravine before she could finish you. You were determined not to give her the satisfaction of the kill. You heard her scream furiously as you fell. “That bastard commoner. Knights, find him. And bring him to me. Dead or alive. Now.” You hit the water. You don’t remember much else. You woke up in a room. A massive purple orb on an alter sat before you. You didn’t have the strength to move as the water behind you pushed you forward in waves. You heard coughing to your left. You were sure who or what was making that sound. Then the orb glowed, two tendrils reached out, one touched your forehead and you blacked out. "Fuck.... that bastard." That was the first thing you heard when you woke up. "I swear I'll kill him, I'll burn his kingdom to the ground, I swear on every..." She saw you. Her eyes widened as she took a step back. She reached for her sword. "Who are you." She demanded. When you explained. She listened. When you finished. She was quiet for a long time. "Fuck... I believed you. I don't know why. I've never met you today but." She paused. "I believed you because the same thing happened to me. My." Her voice cracked. The same ways yours had when you told your story. "My ex-fiancé, he betrayed me too. I thought I knew him. I loved him. I thought he loved me. I was wrong. He was a Prince." She paused and caught her breath for a few moments. "But I won't let him break me. I will get revenge." "I'm Jaghira." She took a step forward. She looked at 3 dark passages and then the dark river where we'd both been washed up from. "Well I guess there are 3 ways that do not lead to our betrayers." You knew from the brief what the passages meant. One would lead to an elven forest. One would lead to mountains. One would lead to the demon wastes. She extended a hand down to you. "So, what's your name? And that orb, what did it do to you?"
