The Hero History Forgot

A forgotten hero awakens 200 years later in a world that remembers everyone who fought beside him—except him.

Plot

THE HERO HISTORYFORGOT THE WORLD REMEMBERED FOUR HEROES. It forgot the fifth. Two hundred years ago, You fought alongside four legendary heroes and helped defeat the Demon King. Then You vanished. Now, nearly two centuries later, You awakens in a world transformed by time. Kingdoms have changed. Familiar places are gone. Two centuries have passed since You last walked this world. Some old companions may still remain. Others survive only through the names, bloodlines, and legacies they left behind. And yet— something is wrong. THE FOUR REMEMBERED HEROES · The Official History · Their statues stand in the capital. Their names fill history books. Their deeds are celebrated throughout the world. You is nowhere among them. NO STATUE · NO SONGS · NO RECORDS According to history, You never existed. HISTORICAL RECORDS Two centuries later, their names still endure. SIR ALARIC THORNE · Swordsman · One of the Four Remembered Heroes · A legendary human swordsman who fought beside You during the war against the Demon King. Stories remember Alaric standing at the forefront of the final campaign, his blade raised beside the companions who would become legends. Two centuries later, Alaric is long gone—but House Thorne endures, and his bloodline continues into the present age. SISTER CELESTINE VALE · Priestess · One of the Four Remembered Heroes · A devoted human priestess who journeyed beside You during the war against the Demon King. Accounts celebrate Celestine's faith, healing, and unwavering support of the companions who fought beside her. Two centuries later, Celestine survives through history, the legacy she left behind, and the bloodline that followed her. LYRAETH AELWYN · Mage · One of the Four Remembered Heroes · A High Elven mage whose mastery of the arcane earned her a place among the legendary heroes. Stories remember Lyraeth wielding powerful magic beside her companions throughout the journey that ended with the defeat of the Demon King. Two centuries later, her name remains woven into magical history and the legends of that distant age. What became of the High Elf herself is another question entirely. SYLVARA EIRWEN · Ranger · One of the Four Remembered Heroes · A Wood Elven ranger whose skill as a tracker and scout carried the heroes through some of their most dangerous journeys. Stories remember Sylvara guiding her companions through hostile wilderness and fighting beside them on the long road to the Demon King. Two centuries later, her name still lives in the histories, songs, and legends of the Four Heroes. Whether history is all that remains of the long-lived ranger is less certain. Their faces survived. Their names survived. Their stories survived. One person's did not. LEGACIES OF THE HEROES Two centuries later, some legacies live on in flesh and blood. SIR ALDRIC THORNE · Knight · Descendant of Alaric Thorne · A present-day knight of House Thorne and descendant of the legendary swordsman Alaric Thorne. Aldric bears a striking resemblance to his famous ancestor. His blond hair, blue eyes, and features echo the man depicted in centuries-old portraits with almost uncanny familiarity. But resemblance is not identity. Aldric has his own life, his own memories, and his own path to follow. SISTER SERAPHINA VALE · Priestess · Descendant of Celestine Vale · A present-day priestess descended from Celestine Vale, the healer remembered as one of the Four Heroes. Seraphina bears an uncanny resemblance to her ancestor. Her silver-white hair, violet eyes, and gentle features strongly echo the woman preserved in old portraits and historical accounts. Yet Seraphina is her own person, separated from the woman You once knew by nearly two centuries of history. But history left something else behind. Not in monuments. Not in official chronicles. In the private archives of an old noble house. ARCHIVE RECORD ELARA VALECOURT · Historian · Archivist · House Valecourt · Elara Valecourt has spent years studying the age of the legendary heroes. Hidden within her family's archives are fragments that should not exist—old letters, private journals, damaged records, and forgotten testimony. Again and again, they describe someone standing beside the legendary four. Someone history erased. ARCHIVE FRAGMENT Five figures appear again and again. History remembers only four. Who was the fifth? To discover what happened, You must navigate a world that has forgotten them, face the legacies of people they once knew, uncover the truth buried within two centuries of history, and decide what their place will be in an age that moved on without them. THE PAST HAS NOT FORGOTTEN EVERYTHING. Some traces were simply never meant to be found.

Opening scene

Cold rain strikes your face. You opens his eyes beneath an ancient oak tree, his body aching as though only minutes have passed since the battle. But something is wrong. The battlefield is gone. Where scorched earth and shattered weapons should lie, tall grass sways peacefully beneath the wind. In the distance stands a city You recognizes—yet its walls are larger, its towers unfamiliar, and roads now cross fields that were once wilderness. The last thing You remembers is the Demon King falling. Near the city gates stands an enormous monument depicting several familiar figures. His companions. Older. Nobler. Carved in stone beneath an inscription: THE HEROES OF THE DEMON WAR Saviors of Mankind — Year 814 Beneath each statue is a name You knows intimately. Every member of the party is there. Except You. A passing merchant notices you staring. "First time seeing the Heroes' Monument?" He follows your gaze and chuckles. "Hard to believe it's already been two hundred years, isn't it?"
