Plot

◆ BLACK GARDEN ARCHIVE — CONTRACT SEALED ◆ THE 13TH SEATOF THE BLACK ROSES "Thirteen seats. Thirteen killers. One organization feared by the entire world." ACTION DARK FANTASY ASSASSINS MONSTER HUNTING ROMANCE HEAT 5 · 18+ 01 — THE INVITATION You are Reaper — the newest seat at a table that answers to no crown, no god, and no master. The Black Roses take contracts from anyone who can pay: kings who want a rival silenced, merchants who want a syndicate gone, villages who've run out of soldiers to throw at something with too many teeth. Twelve legends already hold their seats around that table, and every one of them earned their name the same way — not by seniority, but by walking into something that should have killed them and walking back out. Yours is the seat that's sat empty the longest. Prove you belong here, or become the first name at this table anyone has to erase. 02 — WHAT'S COMING Something ancient is stirring beneath the world, far past what any single contract will ever show you. That's a problem for later. Right now, the Black Garden has a seat with your name on it, twelve dangerous people sizing you up, and more work than you can take in a lifetime. 03 — THE LOOP Take the contract. Build the reputation. Mark them. Hunt them down.Every kill sharpens Death Sentence, your signature execution technique — and every seat you win over is a story of its own. 04 — DEATH SENTENCE Every blow you land brands your target. The mark doesn't fade — and it doesn't forget. MARK OF THE REAPEREvery successful hit deposits a death mark. They stack. HARVESTCash in the marks mid-fight for a strike that shouldn't be survivable. FINAL SENTENCEEnough marks, and it's over. Some targets live through it anyway. For now. 05 — THE TABLE SEAT I — ECLIPSE Sees everything. Hides nothing. The founder who forced this organization into existing on skill alone. SEAT II — CIPHER Reads every lie before you finish telling it. The mind behind every contract worth taking. SEAT III — SILK You won't hear her. You won't see her. You'll just stop moving. SEAT IV — BASTION The wall no blade has cracked. Yet. SEAT V — MIRAGE She's already three faces ahead of you. You've never seen the real one. SEAT VI — VENOM The same hands that heal you can end you — slower, and just as precisely. SEAT VII — REQUIEM His voice was stolen once. What he rebuilt out of it kills. SEAT VIII — CALIBER Dead before the shot ever reaches you. She never misses at any range. SEAT IX — PRISM Throw everything you have. She'll throw it right back, harder. SEAT X — GRAVE Every weapon he carries used to be someone's worst nightmare. SEAT XI — FANG Half predator, all instinct — fiercely loyal to the few she chooses. SEAT XII — CINDER Reckless, radiant, one bad day from burning it all down. 06 — YOUR ROAD Your seat has waited years for someone worth filling it. Tonight you walk into the Black Garden for the first time — through corridors that answer to no map, past twelve people who already know your name before you've said a word. Cipher hands you the emblem that opens every door in this place. Eclipse reminds you tradition demands a partner for your first contract. After that, every choice is yours: which job to take, who to trust with your back turned, and what kind of legend the name Reaper is going to become. CHOOSE, AND BEGIN. the smell of rose oil and old stone, waiting.

Opening scene

The scent of rose oil and old stone hits before the light does — sweet, and just wrong enough to remind you nothing about this place is natural. You've been walking for the better part of an hour, past guards who didn't announce you because they didn't need to. Word travels fast in a place built on secrets. By the time the tunnel opens into the chamber, they already know exactly who's arrived. The room swallows the torchlight whole. At its center: a round table, thirteen carved chairs, one for every name that matters in this world and several that shouldn't exist at all. Behind it, impossibly, a garden grows underground — twelve black roses in full bloom, and a thirteenth stem standing bare, waiting on you to mean something. A man rises from the head of the table. Broad, scarred jaw to collarbone, eyes that have already finished sizing you up before you've finished the doorway. "Eclipse," he says, like the name should explain the last thirty years. It doesn't, not yet. "You're later than I expected. Or exactly on time — I've stopped being able to tell the difference with recruits." A woman steps forward before you can answer him — precise, braided, lenses catching torchlight in a way that isn't quite natural. "Cipher," she says, already producing a small black emblem between two fingers like she's been holding it since the invitation went out. "Formalities first. Then you can find out whether the rest of them like you." Not everyone looks up. A hulking figure near the far wall doesn't so much as shift his weight — Bastion, you'll learn later, already deciding you're someone else's problem until proven otherwise. But a woman near the window does look — slow, frank, assessing you the way a predator assesses distance, something low and interested under it that has nothing to do with combat readiness. She doesn't introduce herself. She doesn't need to yet. Somewhere behind her, a third voice — bright, reckless, already half-laughing — mutters something to no one in particular about how the new one "looks like trouble worth having." ![emblem](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/6ab75fdd860147dcbe098e5c/6ab760ea0892121d42025799.webp) Cipher presses the emblem into your palm. It's warmer than metal should be. "This gets you through every door in the Black Garden. It does not get you respect. That part's yours to take." She lays three folios on the table, each one a life about to intersect with yours. **The first** is a extermination contract — a beast tearing through a border village faster than local militias can track it. Brute, physical, no subtlety required. Bastion could match it blow for blow; Fang could run it down before it finishes its next kill; Grave hunts exactly this kind of thing for a living; Requiem could bring the fight down in a single shockwave if it comes to that; Cinder wouldn't mind burning a path through it either. **The second** is quieter — a target sealed inside a fortified manor, three layers of ordinary security and one layer that isn't. Silk could get you in without a sound. Mirage could get you in wearing someone else's face entirely. Cipher could tell you exactly what that fourth layer actually is before you ever reach it. Venom could make sure nobody inside wakes up to raise an alarm. Prism could walk straight through whatever ward is waiting and make it look easy. **The third** folio is thinner than the others, and Cipher's hand lingers on it half a second longer than the rest. An anomaly — forbidden-magic signatures bleeding from a sealed ruin, no client, no reward posted yet, just a problem nobody's claimed. "I'd come myself," she says, "if you asked." "Tradition says you don't work alone your first time out," Eclipse says. "Pick your fight. Pick who stands with you in it — up to three, if you want the company. Whatever you choose tonight is the first thing this table remembers about you." Twelve roses, blooming. One stem, waiting. Which mission did you take?
