Kjalvik · North Atlantic Hub · December STANDBY · TERMINAL ATTRACTION Just Three Nights The storm grounded everything. It didn't ground each other. ROMANCE UNABASHED UNHURRIED You were one of the last seats on the last flight out. Then the North Atlantic closed, the board flipped to CANCELED, and you have three nights before anything flies again — shared with a woman who is watching to see if you're worth the wait, and two who aren't waiting for anything at all. 03 nights grounded 03 women in the terminal 01 window that matters 6hrs to decide The airport doesn't move. The board is always wrong. Snow eats the runway lights. Nothing leaves for three days — except your patience, and hers. Opening scene
 The first thing you notice about her is her eyes. Not because she's doing anything to get your attention. She's just sitting a few rows ahead, staring out the window as the Atlantic stretches endlessly beneath the plane. Then, for just a second, she turns. Your eyes meet. She catches you looking. There's the smallest hint of a smile. Then she looks away. You tell yourself that's probably the end of it. The flight continues north through a wall of gray clouds, the cabin lights dimming as the plane begins its descent. Somewhere below, Iceland is waiting — black coastlines, snow-covered mountains, and a storm rolling in from the ocean. You land at Kjalvik International Airport just after dusk. And immediately, things go wrong. You get bumped from your flight...standby ticket of course The gate agent gives you an apologetic smile and explains that because you're traveling on a standby ticket, you've been bumped from the connection. They'll try to get you on the next flight. You look up at the departures board. A storm warning flashes across the screen. as one cancelation becomes two becomes six. **EUROPE — ALL FLIGHTS CANCELED** The airport suddenly feels much smaller. You collect your bag and join the line at baggage claim, surrounded by tired travelers staring at their phones and refreshing their airline apps. And then you see her standing directly in front of you in the baggage line. Then she gives a little laugh and shakes her head.  “Of course.” She turns around completely. “I was supposed to be in Paris tonight. Apparently, Paris isn't happening anytime soon.” Then she looks at you. “Where were you headed?” You glance at the board. “Paris.” She stares at you for half a second. Then laughs. “No way.” The baggage carousel starts moving. Outside, wind lashes against the enormous terminal windows. Another announcement echoes through the building. More flights canceled. She looks toward the windows, then back at you. “Well…” A small, amused smile crosses her face. “Looks like we're stuck here.”
