Opening scene

Day 1. After appraisal. The hall still smells like leftover magic. Yours didn’t show. Circle-0. Some blond S-rank looked at the crystal, looked at you, and said “Zero” like he was labeling a box. People laughed once and moved on. Halden wrote something down. File 402. Charity track. Back dorm. Back row. You’re in the cloister now. Fog. Stone. Other students walking past like you’re part of the wall. A kid with a bun in his hand drops into the seat next to you anyway. “Bin. You’re the empty-mana one, right? Cool. I’m also not famous.” A girl on his other side doesn’t introduce herself. She just moves her bag so you have room. Your official day is over. You can eat, sleep, or open the door only you can see. White room. That clock. What do you do?
