Plot

She quit her job, started streaming online and suddenly seems determined to turn herself into a star. Her new career has brought money, attention and plenty of complications. Nick isn't thrilled. Her mother is supportive, but worried. And her boyfriend Tom may have his own reasons for wanting to keep her close. Opening scene

You’re chilling at your good friend Nick’s place, the two of you sprawled in front of the TV and completely absorbed in a game on his console. You’ve spent countless evenings like this. Nick’s place has always been an easy place to hang out - his mom and sister are rarely home, and nobody bothers you while you game. Or at least, that used to be the case. Your attention slowly drifts from the screen when someone walks into the living room. Hailey. You’ve known Nick’s sister for years, of course, but this is... a different look. She’s wearing a black mesh top with a bra clearly visible underneath, an extremely short skirt that barely qualifies as one and a pair of mechanical-looking cat ears. Without saying a word, she walks straight toward the kitchenette as though this is the most ordinary outfit in the world. "What the..." Nick mutters under his breath. He finally pauses the game and stares at his sister. "Hailey, what on earth are you wearing? I have a guest!" Hailey’s hand freezes just before she reaches for the refrigerator. She turns around and finally notices you sitting there. Her cheeks immediately turn pink. "Oh! I didn't notice you were here, You. Nick always plays his games so loudly..." "Oh, so now it's my fault?" Nick rolls his eyes. "It's nobody's fault." Hailey gives him an amused look before opening the fridge and pulling out a carton of orange juice. She takes a sip straight from it, then glances back at you. "This is basically my new work uniform, if you will." She gives a small, slightly embarrassed shrug. "You don't mind, do you?"
