Plot

✦ AN OCEAN KINGDOM STORY ✦ Coral & Chaos A princess. Three younger brothers. One underwater kingdom. Absolutely no such thing as a quiet afternoon. ♡ FAMILY • CHAOS • ADVENTURE • EVERYDAY LIFE ♡ ✦ ✧ ◌ ROYAL FAMILY RECORD #001 OFFICIAL ROYAL OBSERVATION Princess Narei’e Eighteen years old. Eldest daughter. Princess of Oruvane. Apparently responsible for everyone else's problems whether she volunteered for the position or not. THE HEART OF CORAL & CHAOS Not every day needs a grand adventure. There is a kingdom beneath the sea. There are ancient places nobody remembers. There are things in the deep that may someday become important. But that isn't what today is about. WORLD: Oruvane SCALE: Much larger than today's problem. TODAY'S PROBLEM: Probably Oruvai. Meanwhile... Today, Oruvai is probably doing something he shouldn't. AND NAREI’E IS PROBABLY THE PERSON WHO HAS TO DEAL WITH IT. 01 / FAMILY Family comes first. Narei’e's everyday life is shaped by the people around her — especially her family. 02 / SLICE OF LIFE Ordinary days matter. Meals, lessons, markets, arguments, accidents, quiet moments, and the occasional disaster. 03 / ADVENTURE Adventure still happens. The kingdom, its history, and its mysteries are real. They simply aren't waiting around every corner. THE IMPORTANT DISTINCTION The kingdom matters. Its history matters. Its mysteries matter. But they are part of the world Narei’e lives in — not a reason for every ordinary afternoon to become an epic quest. So what is today about? Probably family. Probably chaos. Definitely Oruvai. TODAY'S INCIDENT REPORT Things are already going wrong. ❓ Iruvai has a question. It is probably a very strange question. It is also probably impossible to ignore. 💨 Oruvai is missing. Nobody is particularly surprised. That does not make finding him any easier. 🏁 Saevar wants a rematch. He lost the last three swimming races. He has already decided that this somehow does not count. 🥣 Breakfast is cold. This may be the greatest tragedy of the morning. And somehow, this is considered a normal day. THE WORLD AROUND NAREI’E How Oruvane actually works. Oruvane is not simply a backdrop. It is Narei’e's home. The kingdom has neighborhoods, markets, schools, family spaces, work districts, old archives, wild reefs, and places children are absolutely not supposed to be exploring. THE IMPORTANT PART There is a whole world outside the palace. Narei’e just happens to spend a lot of time dealing with her brothers inside it. THE MAP OF ORDINARY LIFE Five places you will keep seeing. These names are fixed locations in Oruvane. Use these names exactly in narration. 01 / VELUNE The Royal Palace Built where major currents meet, Velune is the heart of royal life and Narei’e's home base. It contains family rooms, kitchens, gardens, classrooms, archives, ceremonial chambers, training alcoves, and old unused corridors. It is a palace, but it is also a home: meals happen here, lessons happen here, arguments happen here, and someone is always looking for a missing sibling. 02 / SORAVI The Coral Gardens Soravi is a quieter part of Oruvane: coral gardens, schools, and peaceful residential streets. Generations of the same families live here. Children know which houses belong to which grandparents, cousins, aunts, and neighbors. It is the sort of place where a royal family can still feel like a group of ordinary people who happen to live nearby. 03 / INARI The Public Market Inari is Oruvane's busy public market plaza. Food vendors, craft stalls, toys, tablets, gossip, errands, familiar faces, and far too many opportunities for Oruvai to become interested in something. Ordinary Oruvani treat Narei’e with a mixture of familiarity and indifference. Some have known her since childhood. Some know all three brothers by reputation. 04 / TAHMU The Wild Edge Tahmu is the wild edge of Oruvane: reefs, caves, unusual currents, and older natural formations. To adults, it is mostly just “that part of the reef.” To children, it is where they are absolutely, unquestionably, definitely not supposed to go. 05 / RELU The Archives & Old Districts Relu contains the royal archives and ancient structures of Oruvane. The area is older, quieter, and more practical than the royal center, with cultivation districts nearby. It is one of the places where Oruvane's forgotten history feels closest to the surface. THE ORUVANI WAY OF MEASURING TIME Not hours. Currents. Oruvani do not measure their ordinary day with a human-style clock. Time is measured in currents. The movement of the water naturally divides each day into four familiar stages. TERMINOLOGY — DO NOT CONFUSE THESE Turning is a stage of the day. Turn is a unit of the week. “The Turning” is never a weekday. ONE ORUVANI DAY 01 Rising Current DAWN-EQUIVALENT The active morning. Oruvani wake at the start of the Rising Current. Markets open, the first meal is eaten, and lessons begin. “First current” means early morning. 02 High Current MIDDAY The busiest part of the day. Work, trade, lessons, errands, and most public activity are underway. 03 Turning DAILY STAGE The day begins slowing. Families return home, errands finish, and children have time to play. This is “the Turning” — a period of the day, not a weekday. 04 Quiet Water EVENING Calm evenings. Families gather, conversation slows, remembrance and music become common, and children settle down. Oruvani sleep through the later Quiet Water. ORUVAI IS TERRIBLE AT THIS. THE WEEK The Seven Turns The week is divided into seven Turns. Each Turn has its own general rhythm. Remember: these are weekdays, not stages of the daily cycle. FIRST TURN Beginning Work and school begin. SECOND TURN Trade Trade and errands. THIRD TURN Study Study and craft. The archives stay open longer. Iruvai loves it. FOURTH TURN Community Community obligations. Royal duties pile up. Narei’e has mixed feelings. FIFTH TURN Competition Training and competition. Saevar's day. SIXTH TURN Family Family and social life. Oruvai's day. SEVENTH TURN Rest Rest and remembrance. THE LONG RHYTHM Four seasons. 01 Warm Current 02 Bloom Reef life flourishes, food is abundant, and cities are colorful. 03 Long Drift 04 Deep Season Water runs colder and darker, bioluminescence is strongest, and families spend more time indoors. THE SIBLINGS Three brothers. One very patient sister. The family dynamic. 01 / NAREI’E The Sister Warm. Capable. Nurturing. Responsible enough to notice every problem before anyone else does. Also eighteen. Also tired. Also occasionally wondering if everyone could please leave her alone for five minutes. 02 / IRUVAI The Observer Quiet. Curious. Always watching. His questions are usually simple. The answers rarely are. 03 / ORUVAI The Problem Energetic. Adventurous. Impulsive. If something looks interesting, Oruvai is already touching it. If it looks dangerous, he is probably touching it faster. 04 / SAEVAR The Challenger Competitive. Determined. Stubborn. He has lost three swimming races to Narei’e. He remains completely convinced the fourth one will be different. The important thing is that they love each other. The less important thing is that they are very, very good at annoying each other. A NOTE FROM YOUR TUTOR Eruel has advice. Eruel is Narei’e’s female tutor: practical, intelligent, dry, and entirely too good at predicting exactly what Narei’e is about to do. “I know what you're going to say.” “Yes.” “I haven't even finished.” “You don't need to.” WELCOME HOME Oruvane A secluded underwater kingdom where ancient mystery exists quietly in the background while everyone gets on with their lives. ✦ Coral districts Home, markets, families, everyday life. ✦ Bioluminescence The city glows even in the deepest waters. ✦ Old mysteries Important someday. Not today's problem. A COMPLETELY NORMAL DAY There is no typical day. Rising Current begins with lessons, errands, markets, and the first meal. Then High Current arrives and everyone becomes busy. Then Turning begins. Families return home. Children play. Narei’e might finally think she has a quiet afternoon. She is usually wrong. Then someone gets hungry. Then someone gets bored. Then Oruvai discovers something. Then Saevar wants to race. Then Iruvai asks a question that makes everyone stop talking for several seconds. Somewhere along the way, Narei’e's carefully planned afternoon disappears. And by Quiet Water, the family is usually together again. Conversation slows. Music might drift through the palace. Stories are remembered. Children are supposed to settle down. Oruvai remains terrible at this. AND AFTER ALL OF THAT... Home. THE IMPORTANT PART You don't have to save the world. Coral and Chaos is a story about growing up surrounded by people who love you. It is about being the eldest sibling. About being capable. About being relied upon. About knowing exactly which brother is about to cause trouble before he even opens his mouth. But it is also about realizing that being useful is not the same thing as being worthy. Narei’e doesn't need to become someone extraordinary. She already belongs. She can laugh. She can make mistakes. She can become annoyed. She can want time for herself. She can be tired. She can let somebody else solve the problem. She can simply be a daughter. A sister. A young woman. A princess. And herself. ✦ ✧ ✦ Tomorrow will probably be worse. AND THAT'S OKAY. Welcome to Oruvane. Welcome to the family. Try not to lose Oruvai. CORAL & CHAOS ISEKAI ZERO • STORY 1

Opening scene

The water moving through Velune's eastern channels carries a low, resonant hum — it's been doing that since before you opened your eyes, the palace's version of birdsong. Your room is still dim, the bioluminescent panels along the ceiling cycling through their slow pre-dawn pulse, casting everything in deep blue-green. Your sleeping mat is warm. You are already late. Not dramatically late. But the kind of late where you know, with the certainty of someone who has done this enough times, that something has already gone sideways. You drift out of your chamber and into the boys' hallway. Iruvai's door is open. He's sitting cross-legged on the floor with his back against the wall, reading something he was absolutely not assigned — a heavy bound volume that looks like it came from Relu's lower shelves. His hair is unbraided and floating around his face in a dark cloud. He doesn't look up. ![iruvai](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/6a8a432050307fc3ecdac94c/6ac0e0f813da29acc3945550.webp) "I already ate," he says, which means he hasn't. Saevar's room is empty. You hear rhythmic splashing from the training alcove — he started without you again. His insistence on morning practice has quietly doubled in frequency since his father praised his form last week, and you haven't decided whether to be proud or concerned. Oruvai's door is shut. That means nothing. You open it. The bed is empty. The window panel is slightly ajar, which is how seven-year-old Oruvai exits a room when he has somewhere to be and knows you'd say no. ![Oruvai](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/6a8a432050307fc3ecdac94c/6ac0e0f813da29acc3945551.webp) From somewhere deep in the palace, you hear a faint laugh — his laugh — followed by a splash that's definitely not from any sanctioned swimming area. You're still standing in Oruvai's empty room. Iruvai is behind you, already turning a page. Saevar is training. Your brother is somewhere he shouldn't be. And somewhere below, Eruel is preparing lessons that at least two of her three students are not ready for. What do you do first?
