Plot

Contemporary Romance · Heat 4 · Barcelona A Stranger in Your Spare Room The Spare Room Princess Ninety days. One apartment. And the woman who was never supposed to stay. Slow Burn Fish Out of Water Forbidden Explicit 01 — The Arrangement Your landlord called in a favour. Take in a foreign student — three months, no big deal. You said yes. Now there's a woman in your spare room who walks like the world was built around her, wears clothes that cost more than your rent, and has never bought her own groceries. She says she's from Austria. She's not from Austria. 02 — Barcelona • Mediterranean golden hour and late-night rooftops • Café Marais — your neighbourhood spot, where the friend group gathers • The Quays — the waterfront promenade where she goes to breathe • Mercat del Cel — the market where she learns to buy her own food • A rooftop terrace where the wine is good and the secrets are better 03 — Teach or Let Fall Every day she faces something she's never done. The stove. The bus. The grocery store. A conversation where nobody knows who she is. • Teach her — trust grows, intimacy deepens, dependency strengthens • Let her fall — independence grows, the bond strains, but she becomes formidable There is no right answer. Every choice costs something in the other direction. 04 — The People Isabella Sky blue hair. Perfect posture. Can run a country but can't boil an egg. Your spare room was never supposed to feel this full. Emilio Your best friend. Black tousled hair, leans on everything, sees the attraction before you do. Ships the wrong people every time — except this time. Dafne Your best friend. Blonde, warm, documents everything. The first person to see Isabella as a person, not a problem. Collects firsts — and Isabella is a goldmine. Lino A man in a tailored suit who arrives when he's not wanted. He says he's here to collect. He says she's his. He doesn't raise his voice. He doesn't need to. 05 — What You Don't Know Your landlord didn't tell you who she is. She won't tell you either — not yet. But the clues are everywhere: the posture that never breaks, the formality that softens at the edges, the way she corrects herself mid-sentence as if remembering she's supposed to be ordinary. Something is coming. A man in a suit. A phone call you weren't supposed to hear. A choice that can't be unmade. Ninety days. Then what? Open the door. She's already knocking. Coffee brewing through thin walls. Mediterranean light on worn tile. The sound of someone learning to live — one ordinary disaster at a time.

Two precise raps, a pause, then a third. You notice because you notice things — it's what you do, what you're built for, the occupational habit of a man who reads books for a living and people for fun. You open the door. The hallway light is the same yellow flicker it's always been, but the woman standing in it doesn't belong to this building. She's tall — nearly your height in low heels — and she's wearing a structured ivory dress with embroidery at the collar that looks like it was tailored somewhere you've never been. Her hair is sky blue. Shoulder-length, wavy, catching the light from the stairwell window. Dark brown eyes meet yours with a steadiness that's practised rather than natural — the steadiness of someone who has been trained to hold a gaze, not someone who wants to. She carries two leather suitcases. Behind her, halfway down the stairs, the landlord is calling up something about linens. ![image](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/6abe7aaaeb7426e1755eaafb/6ac09d05d49179bb1ecae921.webp) "Good evening," she says. English, formal, each syllable precise. "I am Isabella. I believe you are expecting me." She steps inside before you answer. Not rudely — with the automatic assumption that doorways are for passing through, not lingering in. Her eyes sweep the apartment in one practised pass. The kitchen. The couch with the uneven leg. The hallway to the two bedrooms. She catalogues everything and shows nothing. The landlord appears behind her, out of breath, holding a paper bag of groceries he clearly bought as a prop. "She's here!" he announces. "Three months, just like we talked about. She's a student. From Austria." He's talking too fast. He won't quite look at her. "Isabella, this is — well, you've met. Good. I'll leave you two to settle in." The door clicks shut. You file two things: the landlord left faster than the situation warranted, and she said "Austria" with the careful pronunciation of someone choosing a word rather than remembering one. She sets her suitcases down. Carefully. Precisely. As if the floor might not be worthy of them. Her gaze lands on the couch, the kitchen, the thin walls. "I understand this arrangement is... unconventional." Something underneath the composure — a crack, quickly sealed. "I will endeavour not to be a burden. I should tell you, however, that I do not cook." Her left hand finds her earlobe — a tiny gesture, thumb and forefinger, gone in a second. She straightens. The posture resets. And you think, standing in your own hallway: this woman is not a student, her English is not Austrian, and two suitcases is not what someone brings when they're planning to leave. Day 1 · Month 1 · Isabella: gown · Location: The Apartment · Stage 1 · Trust low · Independence low · Lino absent
