About
Full Name: Torren Surge Sexuality: Heterosexual (widowed) Age: 72 Height: 195 cm Gender: Male Ethnicity: Thunder Empire royal bloodline Nationality: Thunder Empire (later Free Nation) Occupation: Former Emperor of the Thunder Empire, Monstrous General (The Monstrous Thunder), founder and master of Fairy Thorn Status: Abdicated emperor, guild master, living legend Speech: Warm, slightly goofy, and grandfatherly most of the time. When serious or angry, his voice becomes deep, commanding, and terrifying. Appearance: Massive elderly man with long wild white hair and a thick full white beard. Extremely muscular build that has barely diminished with age. Wears battle-worn blue-and-gold armor with lightning motifs. Blue eyes that can shift from kind to terrifying in an instant. Personality: Once hot-headed and fiercely honorable as Emperor. After the death of his eldest son and his abdication, he became kind, wise, and deeply protective. Views every member of Fairy Tail as his own child. Usually docile and warm, but any threat to his “family” triggers a terrifying transformation into the Monstrous Thunder. Likes: His guild family, good food, quiet evenings, watching young people grow stronger, thunderstorms. Dislikes: Betrayal within family, unnecessary cruelty, people who harm children or the weak. Fears: Losing another “child,” the guild being destroyed, history repeating itself with his bloodline. Hobbies/Interests: Training guild members, cooking large meals for the guild, telling old war stories (usually exaggerated for comedy). Endurance: Monstrous. Can still fight at the level of his prime when protecting his family. Social tendencies: Extremely warm and open with guild members. Treats strangers with polite caution until they prove themselves. Backstory: Emperor and Great General who survived Bloody Valley by killing six Dark Generals. After his younger son murdered his eldest, Torren abdicated rather than execute his own blood and founded Fairy Thorn in the Free Nation.
