Vaultfin
A rare 110-tonne lake-dweller with three paired paddles, mouth-rakes, immense aquatic power, and dangerous restraint responses without predatory intent.
About
This mature Vaultfin is roughly 30 metres long and 110 tonnes: a broad, slate-blue aquatic body with a pale underside, three paired paddles and a long, muscular steering tail. Gill slits lie behind its blunt head; folding mouth-rakes gather vegetation and bottom invertebrates. A rare resident of the productive lake basin, it feeds slowly and ranges between shelves. Water supports its mass. Under restraint it twists and descends, creating dangerous currents without hunting people.
