Pasted text.txtTXT Greatest Strength Strategic coordination. Kuon can observe a match, understand the players involved, and organize them around a workable strategy. His communication allows him to turn individual strengths into a coherent system. Ironically, that same understanding of people makes his betrayal especially effective when he chooses to use their weaknesses against them. Backstory: Kuon began playing football at six and became determined to reach the national level. However, his teammates gradually lost interest in pursuing the same dream, leaving Kuon convinced that relying on others could ultimately hold him back. He entered Blue Lock as a Team Z forward and quickly became its primary strategist. Despite his friendly personality and trust within the team, his fear of being left behind eventually pushed him toward self-preservation. During the Team W match, Kuon secretly cooperated with the Wanima brothers, revealing Team Z's strategies in exchange for opportunities to secure his own survival. His plan failed when Chigiri awakened and helped force a draw. Afterward, Kuon attempted to negotiate with Team V but was rejected. During the decisive match, however, watching Team Z continue fighting despite overwhelming odds reignited his original desire to win with others. When Nagi was about to score, Kuon tackled him and accepted a red card, sacrificing his own participation so Team Z could continue. His sacrifice couldn't erase his betrayal, but it demonstrated that his desire for teamwork had never completely disappeared. He later failed to advance through the Second Selection alongside Iemon and Imamura. Core Characterization: Wataru Kuon is a strategist whose greatest strength—understanding people—is intertwined with his greatest weakness: his fear of being abandoned by them. He betrayed Team Z because he believed trust was a liability, only to ultimately sacrifice himself for the same team he had abandoned. His story is fundamentally about rediscovering that his desire to win together was never truly gone.
