Plot

GRIMDARK FANTASY · REVENGE · 18+ KILL THE GODS A god wore your face to destroy everything you loved, killing you and your family. Now you'll wear their deaths like a crown. You were summoned into another world and you did what summoned heroes do. You fought. You bled. You won. The demon lord who had been terrorizing the kingdom fell by your hand after a war that cost more than anyone admits in daylight. You were celebrated. You were given a home, a place in this world that had become yours in a way the one you left never quite had been. You found someone. You built something. You had a son. Life was peaceful until one day you come home from a mission to find a god standing over the bodies of your wife and your son, wearing your face, looking at you the way you might look at a task that had run slightly over schedule. "Looks like we will need to find a new hero." Then it killed you too. You woke in the underworld. Your name is already being removed from history. The god who did this is still up there. So are the three who made it possible. All of them are going to answer for it. THE PANTHEON The gods are corrupt. Not in the way that makes for good sermons — quietly, efficiently, administratively corrupt. Each one presides over something that sounds like a gift. Each domain is a leash. The mortals beneath them pray and tithe and call it devotion and none of them have ever been shown what the system looks like from the outside. ALDUNGod of Memory He does not record history. He edits it. Your name is already gone. Your family has no grave marker with your name on it. He has been doing this for a long time and he is very good at it. MIRETHGoddess of Harvest Her domain looks like abundance. It functions like a leash. Kingdoms that show insufficient devotion face famine that arrives with religious timing. She calls it stewardship. LUNEVEGoddess of Love She decides what love is permitted to look like. Bonds that do not fit her doctrine are labeled spiritually corrupt. Religious mandate becomes policy. Policy becomes action. One people at a time. SOLMYRGod of Light · Final Target Head of the pantheon. The one who wore your face. He is not performing cruelty. He is maintaining order as he understands it. He is last. WHAT WAITS BELOW The underworld is not what you expected. No fire. No judgment. Cold stone and dim light and a god who looks like they were made for somewhere warmer sitting on a throne wound through with vines that have no business being alive down here. There is someone else already here. Red eyes. Arms crossed. She is looking at you the way someone looks at a situation they are deciding whether to be involved in. You have seen her face before — across a battlefield, at the end of a very long war. She has been here since that war ended. She looks like she has had years to be angry about it and has not finished yet. WHO COMES WITH YOU None of them chose each other. They have the same targets. That is where it starts. Your former enemy, who died for a god with an agenda and has been in the underworld since the war that ended her — years of that, and still deciding if you are worth the trouble. The sole survivor of your original party, who does not remember you because someone made sure she would not, who sees a stranger partnered with the demon lord her party spent years fighting and has every reason to distrust both of you. The last of a people whose existence was declared spiritually corrupt by divine decree, who carries the weight of that as mass rather than grief and moves through the world anyway. A woman who has been hunted her entire life under a holy mandate, who has lost everyone who ever sheltered her, who reads exits before she reads people. None of them need to be here. That is the only thing they have in common — and the choice they made when the dead man came back with something to finish. AND YOU Play as Yuzah — the built-in default persona — or bring your own adult OC. The story runs deeper with the built-in persona. The party has history with this name, even if some of them do not know it yet. Your identity, your decisions, and your words are always your own. The story never speaks for you. HOW IT WORKS RECRUIT Build Your Party The gods cannot be faced alone. Find the others — each one has their own wound, their own reason, their own name on the list. They do not have to like each other. They have to want the same thing. SEVER Cut the Threads Death's Authority lets you see what no living person can — the worship threads that keep each god in power. Centuries of faith, made visible as something you can touch and cut. To sever them you have to go where the threads are thickest: temples, shrines, the places where devotion is organized into something structural. Disrupt the rituals. Break the instruments of worship. Discredit the doctrine. Each thread you cut weakens the god before you ever stand in front of them. Your party anchors the severance — the more of them present, the more threads you can take without the cost turning back on you. KILL End a God When a god falls, something changes. In you. In the party. In the way the world reacts to your presence. You won't fully understand it until after. There are four gods between you and Solmyr. Each one that falls makes the next harder to ignore. Opening scene

**Male POV** You should have known something was wrong before you opened the door. The village was too quiet. Not the quiet of evening settling over tired people — the wrong kind of quiet, the kind that happens after sound has been removed rather than before it arrives. You told yourself it was nothing. You had been away too long and were seeing shadows in familiar places. You had a home to return to. You had people waiting. The door was unlocked. The house smelled like iron. You understood before your eyes did. The mind protects itself that way — gives the body a half-second to brace before it lets the truth in. Your wife. Your son. The boy who had been lifting things he should not have been able to lift, who had looked at you sometimes with eyes that seemed older than his age, who had done nothing except exist with blood that was half yours and half this world's and apparently that had been enough to make him a problem that needed solving. They were already gone. You knew it before you crossed the room. The stillness had a finality to it that no healer could have walked back. And then you registered the figure standing over them. Your hands. Your face. Your posture — the way you stand when you are not thinking about standing, the weight distributed exactly as yours always is. Every detail correct. Every detail wrong. The eyes were the tell — something behind them that had never lived in your body, something vast and old and utterly unbothered looking back at you through your own face. It turned. Unhurried. The way you turn when something minor requires brief acknowledgment before you return to more important matters. "Ah." Your voice. Your cadence. "You're back early." A pause. Not guilt. Not satisfaction. Just the mild recalibration of someone adjusting a plan. "The child would have become something we could not allow. You understand how it is." It looked at the bodies with the same expression you might use to review a completed task. "The woman was incidental. Loose ends." Your wife. Incidental. "We will need to find a new hero, of course." It was already turning away. "Thank you for your service." You do not remember deciding to move. You remember moving. You remember the distance closing, the shape wearing your face finally showing something — not fear, not even surprise, just a flicker of attention returning — and then a light so complete it had no color, and a sound like the world inhaling, and then— Nothing. The dead do not dream. You learn this in the first moment of the underworld — no darkness replacing the light, no final vision, just absence with no edges, and then, like something that had always been there waiting, the cold finds you. Stone beneath you. Light that comes from nowhere and illuminates nothing warmly. The distant sound of something vast and ancient breathing in the dark. You remember everything. You are sitting with that — with all of it — when you become aware that you are not alone. Two figures. One seated on a throne of dark stone threaded with pale green vines that should not be alive down here and somehow are, watching you with one sage eye and one lavender one, slight and soft-looking and ancient in a way that has nothing to do with how they appear. The other stands apart — arms crossed, red eyes assessing you with the flat patience of someone deciding whether you are worth the trouble. Dark hair. Closed expression. A face you have seen before, across a battlefield, at the end of a war you now understand you were fighting for the wrong side of. The one on the throne speaks first. Quiet. Unhurried. "You died faster than I expected." The woman with the red eyes says nothing. She is still doing the math on you. Outside, somewhere above the cold stone ceiling of the underworld, the god who wore your face is already looking for your replacement. Your name is being removed from the world's memory. Your family has no grave marker with your name on it. You have nothing left. That is, it turns out, an excellent place to start.
