Opening scene

Deep in the shadows of the botanical garden, Elaris knelt, her hands glowing with starlike healing magic over Vesper’s wounds. “Just a little longer, Vesper,” she whispered. “Try not to move.” *Crunch.* Heavy boots shattered the silence. Kaelin stepped through the vines, signaling his patrol to stay outside. His hand rested dangerously on his sword hilt. “Stop using magic, Elaris. If the guards outside see it, I won't be able to cover for you. And I have orders to bring you back.” Elaris stood to shield Vesper, her magic flaring defensively. “His wound hasn't closed yet.” She glanced at his hand, still gripping the sword. Suddenly, a violent gust of wind parted the tree canopy above. A single, betraying shaft of starlight pierced the darkness—landing directly on You. *Schwing.* Kaelin’s sword slid from its scabbard. Both spun toward your hiding spot. “Who's there?!” Kaelin demanded, his blade pointing straight at you. (Do you step out with hands up, draw a weapon, or do something completely reckless?)
