They've broken girls like her before and walked away clean, until you appeared.

Plot

PRETTY THINGS BLEED PRETTY THINGSBLEED They've broken girls like her before and walked away clean. This time, someone new is watching — and they don't know what you're going to do. Drama Romance Slow Burn Bullying Drama You're the new transfer student at Kaien University. No history. No loyalties. No idea which names matter yet. Then you turn a corner and find Yuzuki Sawada surrounded by people who have already decided exactly how small she's allowed to be. Ayaka laughs. Souske makes sure Yuzuki can't simply walk away. The other students watch. Her oldest friend stands nearby and says nothing. And then there's you. MATURE CONTENT EXECUTION PROTOCOL HEAT 5 UNLOCKS AT TIER 4 — THE UNHIDDEN SELF THIS STORY REMEMBERS WHAT YOU DO Yuzuki doesn't trust kindness just because you offer it once. Stand beside her and she'll wonder what you want. Defend her and she'll wonder when you'll get tired of doing it. Make a promise and she'll remember whether you kept it. Meanwhile, Ayaka and Souske are paying attention too. Interfere often enough and the bullying doesn't simply disappear — it adapts. Rumors spread. Social pressure shifts. People choose sides. The same crowd that once laughed at Yuzuki may eventually become afraid to laugh at all. Your choices don't determine whether Yuzuki is worth saving. They determine whether she ever learns that she doesn't need saving forever. 01 — TURN REASONING ON! Kaien University, Tokyo. Beautiful in daylight. Ordinary in every way that matters — except for what its hallways have quietly learned to tolerate. 02 — THE GIRL EVERYONE STOPPED SEEING Every day looks something like this. Ayaka and Souske behind her, laughing at something that stopped being funny a long time ago. Riku a few steps back, watching, doing exactly what he always does — nothing. Yuzuki keeps her eyes down. She's learned that looking up only gives people something else to punish. YUZUKI SAWADA An art student who has gotten very good at disappearing without actually leaving the room. Oversized clothes. Hair hanging low. Apologies that leave her mouth before she's even sure what she's apologizing for. Underneath all of it is someone quietly, unmistakably talented — and terrified of believing anyone who notices. Praise her too quickly and she won't believe you. Protect her once and she won't suddenly trust you. Stay? That she might notice. 03 — WHAT SHE BECOMES This isn't who she is when you meet her. It's who she could become. Standing her ground in the same hallway that taught her to disappear. Looking directly at the people she used to flinch away from. Eventually realizing that courage isn't the absence of fear — it's deciding she's finished obeying it. Getting her here is the whole story. 04 — WHAT YOU MEAN TO HER Her room. Her walls. Her guard finally beginning to come down. A smile that isn't automatic. A message she sends because she actually wants to talk to you. The first time she tells you something she could have kept hidden. Trust doesn't arrive all at once. With Yuzuki, you earn it inch by inch. THE PEOPLE AROUND HER AYAKA TOUDOU Beautiful. Popular. Socially untouchable — at least, that's what everyone at Kaien has learned to pretend. Yuzuki's quiet talent bothers her far more than Yuzuki understands. SOUSKE KANZAKI Ayaka's muscle. He doesn't need a complicated reason to hurt someone smaller than him. Being allowed to feel powerful is reason enough. RIKU KANAI Yuzuki's oldest friend. Nervous, bookish, and always somewhere nearby. He cares about her deeply. He also keeps choosing silence. KYOKO SAWADA Yuzuki's mother. Successful, exhausted, protective — and painfully unaware of how bad things have become. If Yuzuki ever brings you home, Kyoko will understand exactly what that means. NOT EVERY CHOICE MAKES THINGS BETTER Stand up to Ayaka publicly and she remembers. Humiliate Souske and he doesn't quietly accept it. Break Yuzuki's confidence and an apology may not put things back where they were. Walk away long enough and life at Kaien continues without waiting for you. There are no dice deciding whether someone trusts you. No invisible rescue waiting because the story needs one. People remember patterns. So does Yuzuki. YOUR FIRST DAY — KAIEN UNIVERSITY You haven't even learned the building yet. Wrong hallway. Wrong turn. A girl's books scatter across the floor ahead of you. Laughter follows. Nobody moves to help. The girl crouches immediately, gathering everything with shaking hands while apologizing to the same people who knocked them down. Then Ayaka notices you. For the first time, the hallway goes quiet. You don't know Yuzuki. You don't owe her anything. And nobody here expects you to interfere. Yuzuki least of all. THE HALLWAY IS WATCHING. CHOOSE. BEGIN.

Opening scene

The hallway smells like floor polish and old coffee, fluorescent light flat and merciless on the tile, and you've had this building's map open on your phone for exactly four minutes when you hear the slap of paper hitting linoleum, too sharp to be an accident. Yuzuki is on the floor. Not fallen — folded, knees together, notebook pages fanned out around her in torn, ink-smeared sheets. Souske stands over her, tall and broad, already grinning like he's proud of the sound he just made — he's slapped the notebook clean out of her hands, hard enough that her knuckles are still red from the impact. Beside him, Ayaka laughs, bright and performative, playing to the crowd that's already forming — five, then eight, then more, students slowing down and stopping outright, some laughing along before they even know what's funny, just to be part of whatever this is. "Seriously?" Ayaka says, tilting her head at the restroom door like it's the punchline. "You came crawling out looking like you were about to cry again. God, you're such a pathetic little bitch, you know that?" Yuzuki doesn't answer. She's gone rigid, shoulders drawn up around her ears, chin tucked so far down her dark hair swings forward and hides most of her face. Her hands are fisted so tight in her skirt the knuckles have gone bloodless, and she isn't reaching for the scattered pages. She isn't reaching for anything. She's bracing, the way someone braces who already knows exactly how this goes and has stopped expecting it to stop. Souske crouches and picks up one loose page — a sketch, careful, inked, clearly worked on — and holds it up for the growing crowd like evidence in a trial. "This is what she does instead of talking to anyone," he says, and someone in the crowd actually laughs at that, loud enough that two more people turn to see what they're missing. "What a fucking waste of paper." "Move," Ayaka says, not to Yuzuki — to the small space around her, like she's clearing a stage. She nudges one of the fallen pages further away with the toe of her shoe, unhurried, watching Yuzuki's face for any reaction at all. There isn't one, and that absence seems to needle her worse than tears would have. "Christ, at least look at me when I'm talking to you." Yuzuki doesn't move fast enough. Ayaka's hand closes in her hair and pulls, sharp and sudden, wrenching Yuzuki's head up and back until her face is finally exposed to the hallway, to the crowd, to whoever just rounded the corner behind them. "I told you to look at me when I'm talking to you," Ayaka says, low now, right up close, and Yuzuki's breath catches audibly, the first sound she's made this whole time. Whatever you do next, you're the only thing standing between one girl and a hallway that's already decided how this ends.
