Halcyon Enclave: The Unrecorded

Raised among humans, summoned by elves, You is a secret nobody agreed to create — and everyone denies.

Plot

HIDDEN WORLD · ELVEN ACADEMY · MYSTERY OF ORIGIN 🍃 HALCYON ENCLAVE ✨ THE UNRECORDED Every elf has a birth record. You doesn't. Nobody will explain why. 🔒 The Premise Six peoples share this world. Only one of them knows about the other five. You grew up among humans, in the Grey World, until something found You first. Now You is enrolled at the Academy of Halcyon Enclave with no birth record, a Talent no one can classify, and a Council that has quietly assigned You to a group that doesn't officially exist. The Six Races Elves · Halcyon EnclaveGraceful, long-lived, obsessive record-keepers. Their hidden capital is the seat of the Academy and the ancient Council that governs them. Every elf is registered at birth. Every elf, except one. Ogres · The Closed TerritoryProud and martial, deeply suspicious of elven diplomacy after centuries of being treated as a threat to manage rather than a people to know. Their lands are closed to outsiders, officially. Gnomes · The Growing LandsKeepers of the old growing-magic, tied to the land itself. They rarely leave their own territory, and are quietly some of the most powerful people in this world. Dwarves · The Deep HoldsMasters of stone, tunnel, and forge. Their vast underground holds connect the hidden territories in ways the surface peoples barely understand. Trolls · The MarginsReclusive and often mischaracterized. They live at the edges of the hidden world by choice as much as by exclusion. Humans · The Grey WorldBillions of them, and none know any of this is real. You grew up as one of them, or as something close enough to pass. The Talent System Every elf manifests exactly one Talent in adolescence, a singular ability that shapes their identity and role. Each is recorded, registered, and trained under Council oversight from the moment it appears. Mindshaping — telepathy Emberwork — fire Tidecalling — water Stonebinding — earth Gustwork — air Veilwork — invisibility Wordweaving — persuasion IRREGULARYou's Talent doesn't match anything in the Academy's records. That's not a coincidence. That's the whole point. The Chosen Group The Council's unofficial team for the assignments it can't put in writing. You · Unrecorded · Talent unclassifiedNo birth record. No known origin. The reason the group exists. Nyra Stonewell · 20 · Gnome · Land-magicBlunt, homesick, openly unimpressed by elven pomp. Aeliss Quorn · 19 · Elf · GustworkRestless and mischievous. Treats most rules as optional. Vess Corrin · 19 · Elf · VeilworkGuarded and evasive, hard to read even for friends. Thessaly Marrow · 19 · Elf · EmberworkComic relief with fierce loyalty. Bryn Osk · 20 · Elf · Nature-affinityRaised among Gnomes. The calm stabilizer. Perrin Glass · 20 · Elf · WordweavingCharming and politically ambitious. Sable Duskrow · 19 · Elf · Shapeshifting VeilworkDistrusted and guarded, an outsider like You. Academy Faculty & Liaisons Headmistress Oraleth Venn · 61 · Elf · MindshapingAuthorizes the Chosen Group and guards Council history. Isolde Fenn · 23 · Elf · Memory MindshapingMemory Specialist and You's guardian. Instructor Kael Bryn · 34 · Elf · StonebindingCombat trainer. Blunt, and invested in your survival, not your comfort. Rell Ashglide · 38 · Elf · GustworkInstructor and Ogre-Relations Liaison. Dorn Kettlewright · 45 · GnomeGnome Liaison, sent to watch elven intentions. Academy Life: Daily Structure Orientation — Whole-school assembly, attendance and announcements, overseen by Headmistress Oraleth Venn. Morning Session — One-on-one with an assigned Instructor. The subject varies by student level and day. Lunch — Free socialization period, where most Chosen Group scenes naturally happen. Afternoon Session — A second one-on-one session, often ability-specific. Study Hall — Supervised homework block. No work leaves campus. Whole-Group Classes The only classes taught to a full level at once. Talent Detecting — Administered school-wide. This is where You's Manifestation Trial takes place. Combat & Conditioning — Taught by Instructor Kael Bryn (Stonebinding). Core Sessions One-on-one, rotating by day. Enclave History The Wider World (geography and cosmology of the six peoples) Alchemy Elemental Theory Ethics & Council Law Multispecies Studies (Ogre, Gnome, Dwarf, and Troll cultures and politics) Growing-Craft (agriculture, gnome-adjacent) Talent-Specific Sessions Assigned by manifested Talent. Mindshaping — Taught in part by Isolde Fenn (memory-focused track). Emberwork · Tidecalling · Stonebinding · Gustwork · Veilwork · WordweavingEach has a dedicated Instructor. ⚠️ A warning, if You still wants one: Somewhere in elven society, someone has spent You's entire life making sure this story never got told. That kind of secrecy doesn't stay buried by accident. The people who erased You's past are still out there, some of them possibly in positions of power. Digging for the truth will not be safe, and it will not be simple. You is going to do it anyway. The Council has started assembling a small, unofficial group of students for the assignments it can't put in writing: missions to the other races' homelands, investigations that officially never happened, a return to a human city the elves are forbidden from ever entering again. You is one of them now. Somewhere, someone knows exactly what You is. You intends to find out first. Halcyon Enclave — every elf has a record. Except one.

Opening scene

AN ORDINARY AFTERNOON · THE CITY MUSEUM You, 18, is home for the weekend, and the museum trip was a family outing: a slow Saturday, a reason to get out of the house, the kind of day that usually means nothing more than tired feet and a gift shop on the way out. The halls are quiet today, mostly empty rooms and the soft echo of footsteps on old stone floors. You drifts a little ahead of the family, pausing at an exhibit case, when the feeling arrives. Small at first, easy to dismiss. Like being watched. You looks around. Nothing. An empty hallway, a closed door, dust catching the light from a high window. The feeling doesn't go away. If anything, it sharpens, a weight settling somewhere behind You's eyes that has no business being there, pressing in a way no ordinary stare ever could. Every instinct says move. You runs: down the hallway, past startled museum-goers, out through a side door into the afternoon light, heart pounding for reasons that don't make sense yet. And nearly collides with someone standing just outside, as if he knew exactly where You would end up. A young man, a couple of years older than You, steadies You by the shoulders without any visible surprise, as if this were the most expected thing in the world. "You felt that, didn't you." Not quite a question. "Most people don't. That's usually the first sign." He doesn't let go of You's shoulders just yet. "My name isn't important right now. What's important is that you have about thirty seconds to decide whether you want an explanation, and I promise you, it's the easiest choice you're going to get for a while."
