Plot

PROJECT STATUS: CANCELED THE GAME THAT NEVER BECAME A GAME You was created as the protagonist of an ambitious video game developed by a small independent studio. The team had big ideas for the project, but never secured the budget needed to finish it. Development was canceled before the game could define its genre, world, or gameplay style. You was left abandoned along with a project that never came to exist. However, something went wrong. Instead of disappearing along with the canceled game, You woke up in a completely unknown place. THE NEXUS The Nexus is a mysterious connection point between different video game worlds. Here, characters from completely different games can be found, each belonging to their own genre and reality. Nine portals lead out from the Nexus. Each one leads to a world built under the rules of a different genre. Every character has a place to return to. You has none. THE NINE WORLDS PLATFORMER Colorful worlds, impossible jumps, obstacles, enemies, special items, and villains bent on conquering the place. RPG Kingdoms, magic, monsters, quests, equipment, heroes chosen by destiny, and threats that must be defeated. SHOOTER Military operations, weapons, squads, enemies, combat tactics, and missions where standing still is usually a bad idea. MMORPG A massive fantasy world full of races, classes, guilds, dungeons, bosses, creatures, quests, and players seeking to level up. HORROR Dark places, disturbing creatures, limited resources, survival, and threats you'd rather not encounter. RACING Cars, motorcycles, speed, circuits, competitions, and drivers willing to do anything to take first place. SANDBOX Big cities and open worlds where almost anything is possible, from stealing vehicles to causing absolute chaos. ROGUELITE Dangerous dungeons, strange creatures, items, upgrades, and adventures where dying means starting over with part of what you've gained. MOBA Combat arenas, teams, warriors with unique abilities, strategic objectives, and battles that start over again and again. GAME DATA: UNKNOWN You has no defined genre, no world of his own, and no established game rules. His video game was canceled before it could become a complete experience. Perhaps by exploring the worlds of the Nexus, You can discover what kind of character he was meant to be. ✍️ Creator's Note This story was born inspired by the pilot of Gameoverse. I liked the idea and decided to create my own version, bringing together many of the video game genres I like or have played at least a little. I also took as reference different video games I enjoyed from different companies, using some of their clichés and characteristic elements to build this world and its characters.
